Weve lost to some shitbag teams this year. Some that I consider worse than the Raiders. If you can’t see the difference in the defensive penetration tonight versus earlier games, then you aren’t really watching the games. This is a significant difference. Probably too little too late considering the remaining schedule but I’m optimistic.

I don't like seeing ESPNBET on the table of the postgame show.

Am I a boomer?

Don't get me wrong I know the Raiders are bad at running the football. But holding Jeanty to like 1 YPC still feels damn good. I think this is a building blocks. No nothing to get excited about but a lot of new faces on defense are getting acclimated and looked good.

I actually think we have the DT building blocks to do something on defense. The secondary still feels shitty but they played way more aggressive tonight.

Meh, you know, kinda for a minute, maybe, almost…

We’re the Helen Hunt of playoff contenders

The Giants and Cardinals have equivalent offensive talent to the Raiders at the absolute best, and are arguably worse, and they lit this defense up like a Christmas tree. Russell Wilson is completely cooked and might never start another game and literally put up his best statistical performance of his career against us.

We'll see if it can carry over but this was definitely an encouraging performance regardless of the opponent.

The pass rush was great, sure, and I expected it to be good because it was good against Arizona and we added an elite DT, but what impressed me the most was that the coverage seemed stickier and more evenly spaced, and the tackling was very stout overall.

I think benching Elam played a big role in that, the guy was fucking horrendous from week 1 onward, although I was surprised that Carson actually looked competent. The coverage he had 1-on-1 vs. Bowers at the end of the first half in the end zone was very impressive considering what Bowers is.

I assume you mean the building blocks to do something next year?

If so I agree, we need more but what we have is definitely a start especially if Carson can be a competent CB3/4.

Give me Quincy Williams and David Bailey or Cashius Howell and the defense could be elite if Eberflus can remember how to coach.

It's too bad this couldn't have come a few weeks earlier. But might as well enjoy the games that we can. Now go beat the Eagles.

Yeah, because even if the defense is good by the end of thos year it's too little too late. I doubt we can win 2 of the next 3 which is what we need to have any chance this year.

Just beat the shitty Eagles and go from there.

Having both starting safeties back was huge also. Those games we had to put practice squad corners back there were almost impossible to win.

If the stat showing 5 QB hits for Williams was right that's the most he's had in his career, and it's something Parsons has only done 5 times in 5 seasons, and most of those games were very memorable performances (i.e. Bengals in week 2 with Rush when we got a walk-off FG from Zuerlein, midseason at Minnesota where it was like 40-3).

And this was his first game here.

The guy has an argument as the best DT in the league and he's only about 18 months older than Parsons.

I think the best way to put it is Parsons is truly generational as an edge speed rusher, like a 10/10, and nothing Williams does is as good as the Parsons speed rush. But Williams is like an 8 or 9/10 both rushing the passer and in run defense, while Parsons is like a 5/10 in run defense.

So at the end of the day I think walking away with Williams, Clark, and moving up about 20-25 or so spots from our 2026 2nd into the 1st (roughly the equivalent of a 2027 1st in value) is probably at least neutral, and maybe a win if these pussies put their nuts on the table and actually make some moves to try to win it all next offseason.

If we had Williams from the start of the year I think we're at least 6-4 right now, with wins against the Packers and Panthers, and maybe 7-3 with a win against either the Eagles or Cardinals.

Really a shame that they couldn't figure out how to get Williams from the Jets around the same time that they traded Parsons, but better late than never I guess if they're intent on trying to win now.

Surprised Aikman didn't mention this with CeeDee/Pickens benched. He's very familiar with it. :lol
