I hope you aren't trying to argue that we've done any meaningful winning in the past 5 years.

looks like they should make the playoffs.
Can’t say it much better than this. And the sad part of all of this is that with a real GM this team is probably a contender turnaround in one season. The pieces are there for the taking in free agency, and possibly in the draft. Not even remotely close to true.
Every single guy on this board would be absolutely over the moon if we won a Super Bowl.
And we're all here because despite knowing that the odds were extremely unlikely of that happening with Jerry Jones running the team the way that he does, we found a way to keep sweeping things under the rug enough to remain interested in the team and hope for an unforseen miracle to occur.
But with each passing year, your tolerance for this foolishness dwindles.
And we're coming off one of our worst off-seasons in a long time.
Expecting ANY Cowboys fan to be positive or optimistic right now is extremely unrealistic.
You wanna blindly keep cheering for the team? Have at it.
But don't act like those who can't are being unreasonably pessimistic either, because history is on our side, not yours.
I have to admit outside of 4-5 throws Dak was solid last night. The receivers have got to make the damn catches and they obviously need to get Pickens involved. The guy is a highlight reel pretty much anytime he’s on the field, but I also know that’s the first game and they didn’t have any preseason action together. That makes a difference. What would that have been if CeeDee makes those catches.
Again, find any stat you want to make Dak look bad for that game. The Eagles didn't stop Dak one time. CeeDee did.
I don't know if they did. But I think it's a little different when you have new schemes and play callers. The Eagles had a new OC but they haven't changed schematically at all from last season. Their QB didn't miss most of the season. Just a different situation for them. But I think the Eagles probably had rust too.Did the eagles play any starters in the preseason? I don't actually know.
But if they didn't, then we can't blame this loss on rust.
No but someone had mentioned that we can't beat the Eagles. That's just not true.I hope you aren't trying to argue that we've done any meaningful winning in the past 5 years.
And Jalen Carter. In a country full of gambling degenerates, they may want to take a look and see if Lamb had any money on last nights game.
I have no explanation. He just wasn't seeing the ball well. It's not like they where bobbled drops. We are talking about balls going right between his hands cleanly. In a country full of gambling degenerates, they may want to take a look and see if Lamb had any money on last nights game.
Yeah, I mean you look at the Eagles kicker last night. They were getting ready to put him out to pasture according to sources. He did some off-season work and then steps in last night and makes a 60 yard field goal like it was nothing. That thing would’ve been good from 70 most likely. Aubrey is a weapon with all this new shit for sure they need to sign him and lock him down. With kickers getting better and starting position at the 35 it's literally a first down and the team is already at midfield. Two first downs and its field goal range. Touch backs now are like kicking the ball out of bounds use to be. That use to be a killer mistake. Now its multiple times a game. I hate it.
You're arguing a different thing than I am.What would that have been if CeeDee makes those catches.

I think in your heart of hearts you know. Why, I'm agreeing with him that we won't win a Superbowl this year? No one in the world thinks we are winning a Superbowl this year. We could have beat the breaks off the Eagles and it wouldn't have changed. What I'm suggesting is beyond that we really have no idea how the season will go based off the first game of a season.
The only problem with Aubrey is his kickoffs. Which I almost feel like is because he kicks off like he kicks field goals. He has too strong of a leg and it almost makes it difficult for him to kickoff short of the endzone. Part of me wonders if you're not better off with a kickoff guy who can only get the ball to the 5 yard line or so. I hate to be too hard on Aubrey with the kickoffs because I don't want to fuck up his field goal stroke but I feel like there is a massive advantage between kicking it in the endzone and kicking it to like the 5 yard line.Yeah, I mean you look at the Eagles kicker last night. They were getting ready to put him out to pasture according to sources. He did some off-season work and then steps in last night and makes a 60 yard field goal like it was nothing. I don't agree that he played a good game. There will be plenty of opportunities to blame Dak, doing so after he clearly played a good game is pointless and looks ridiculous.
Right, people want to act like we were the final drive away from beating the Champs. Are they though?
Their defense especially looks very mediocre.
I suspect that this OL will be less than the Great Wall OL of Tyron Smith, Zack Martin and Travis Frederick, but will still be classically decent by time they all hit their stride.I also thought Tyler Booker was legit, he's still a little rough around the edges and got fooled on some twists/stunts a few times, but he's a no-brainer to make at least a Pro Bowl or two.
I think this is true to an extent, he's not Burrow, Allen, etc., who can sometimes elevate their teams all on their own, although if Lamb just catches 1-2 of the three second half drops you could easily say Dak won us the game with big plays down the stretch.I don't agree that he played a good game.
He was ok.
He didn't specifically lose the game.
He wasn't good enough.
He didn't win the game. You can't just say "three Lamb drops," and he's absolved from any criticism. You can say his acute errors didn't cost us the game, but when you are paying him the biggest QB contract in the league he has to WIN the game.
He didn't and never has been that player. He's always been a player reliant on others to win it. Romo was always better in that regard.
This might be a valid point after 5 or 10 years.
After 30, the doom and gloomers are just correct beyond a reasonable doubt, it’s proven.
The 90’s were special, and we don’t need to become that team.
We need a couple of good playmakers is mostly it, and we also need to be able to mix in some twists like Fangio dialed up.
I think as new players like Clark and Ez get more PT, our coaches will dial up the schemes that fit them best.
