I also thought Tyler Booker was legit, he's still a little rough around the edges and got fooled on some twists/stunts a few times, but he's a no-brainer to make at least a Pro Bowl or two.

On one hand, it's inevitable that the other shoe will drop with this franchise, but you'd have to be sticking your head in the sand to not be encouraged after this one.

Literally everybody thought we were going to get whipped up and down the field, and we probably outplayed them overall.

You're not wrong, but...

it's inevitable that the other shoe will drop with this franchise

This part is the problem and it wrecks everything else.

Again, just replying to whichever clown said we cant hang with the big boys. Smitty, Ace, or Sheik. Can't tell them apart.

Dallas Cowboys football 2025.

We can hang with the big boys. And that's good enough.

I don’t know about y’all, but when a cunt is making 35 mil per year, he should never be the main reason you lose a game.

I don't think any of us said we couldn't hang with them.

I know Smitty and I both essentially said that doesn't move the needle for us because hanging with them is nothing new.

How about actually conquering them for once and being a big boy ourselves?

We've been no better than "hanging with the big boys" for the past 30 years.

I don't see how that could be good enough for anyone at this point.

You could argue that it is from the perspective that trading Parsons is about taking a step back in order to take two steps forward in the future with all the 1's, but obviously that's a complete unknown.

If we can win 10-12 games and make the playoffs, or even win the division, I think I'd be satisfied given the potential of the picks we have coming in over the next two years.

Nearly doubling the starting touchback position (from 20 to the 35) in like 6 years is wild.
With kickers getting better and starting position at the 35 it's literally a first down and the team is already at midfield. Two first downs and its field goal range. Touch backs now are like kicking the ball out of bounds use to be. That use to be a killer mistake. Now its multiple times a game. I hate it.

The truth is if we lose Dak, this is a 5 win team. And Dak hasn't been healthy an entire season in a while.
Dak looked more mobile than he has in a long time. He was moving around really well last night. Also took 0 sacks believe it or not. But yeah, if Dak's out for an extended period of time at all this season I'd actually rather not win many games. Sputtering to 8 wins with Milton would be the worst possible outcome of a season. Frankly some here would probably rather see a 5 win Milton team than a Cowboys playoff team with Dak at the helm this year.

And I get it if you just think Dak is not a capable playoff QB. But with Dallas's history of failure in the playoffs with other QBs, I think the issue is deeper than Dak.

As I've said many time before, the first week of the NFL season is the least important week and generally an awful indicator of how the year will go.

Goodell may hate Jerry, but sometimes he thinks like him. Always try to increase scoring. Fantasy and highlights are what matter. Forget the nuts and bolts of the game. Appeal to the casual fan.

We have a handful of six sack guys. Not impressed. They are good rotation pieces. Need the Charles Haley.
You get a Haley type on that D and those JAG 6 sack players normally make huge plays when you need them most. We saw it with the 90’s defenses. Problem is we don’t have Jimmy here to get the players. We’ve got decrepit old PT Barnum.
