I don't regret replacing him either but I think he got screwed over by the Joneses in what was a make or break season for his coaching career in Dallas.
This is true. Its also offers up more questions. Did he fight against that at all or just accept it? Why stay if the ownership thinks this low of you? Did the Jones really think that they were doing him right or just wanted to get rid of him?

Either way its just better that he move on.

Well he did talk about how signing your FAs so late when they didn't get a full offseason wasn't the way to do it. And when they lowballed him on an extension, he walked.

But what good does fighting against it really do anyway? The Joneses are going to do what they do. They'll just find someone else who will accept their terms, which is what they did.

It wouldnt do any good for the team but I would have more respect for him if he did. I guess the main issue I have with him was the poor playoff performances. The GB game was just a shitshow of how not to be prepared.

Exactly. Does anyone think McCarthy wanted Lance? Or Schottenheimer wanted Winfrey after preaching character all off season? Jerry does what he does.

I said at the time I would have fired him after that GB game. That was inexcusable. I still feel that way.

But we absolutely should have used that loss to fuel an offseason last year of upgrading the roster. Instead we essentially sat on our hands and we didn't have to.

They brought McCarthy back so we have to assess things based on that. And they gave him almost no chance last year.

The fact remains he is the best HC we've had since Parcells. Not saying much but still true.

Schottenheimer is a complete unknown. We'll see but I'm not hopeful.

Had they brought in Belichick (and Yoko), I'd be a little hopeful. Instead we're all just crossing our fingers. I'd take McCarthy over that.

I'd take Schottenheimer over Belichick today as everything stands. Yeah he's not proven, but at least we have the chance at a decent coach. Belichick is burnt. And being led around with his dick by a psycho. No thanks.

I said what I said.

You're not wrong. I've definitely wavered on my feelings about Belichick here since Yoko's influence became clear.

I'm more speaking to my lack of confidence in Schottenheimer. I'm not guaranteeing he fails or anything. I'm willing to give him a chance but I'm definitely not hopeful. Obviously I hope my misgivings are unfounded.

Well to be honest its not going to matter who the coach is.
