This is the kind of price you pay for Jordan Davis or Jalen Carter.

This is nuts for a 28 year old declining player.

You gave up just ONE first for a 24 year old Pro Bowl WR.

Williams isn't making any Pro Bowls here.

This is an insane price to pay.
I would love to hate the trade, but when it’s good it’s only fair to call it out.
The Jets have been a dumpster fire for a while….you can point to at least 6 players who are underperforming or most likely just unmotivated because of the losing and constant shuffling of coaches there.
He’s a great player, and I bet he is back to being a stud with the change of scenery.

"He will go back to being a stud with a change of scenery," isn't a sure thing and it IS a reason to reduce the price due to uncertainty.

Given that the early second this year is comparable (roughly) to Green Bay's first this year, and likely our own first next year is better than GB's first next year, this is a roughly comparable package to what Green Bay gave up for a player who is in the conversation for best defensive player in the NFL.

Williams is a good player, but he's just not that level, and his stats are down big time. That means his impact is down too, even if stats don't tell the whole story.

This is just a bad overpay.

I can't see him getting his stud mojo back in Dallas. With a team focused on championships, absolutely. Not here, at least not IMO

Yeah but you're an incurable homer.
:lol

Sure I am. And you're an incurable whiner that looks to bitch about anything and everything, warranted or not.

Aren't we an incredible pair...

Tell us more about the value of Jordan Davis.

He's still considered a top 5 DT in the league despite his stats being so-so over half a season. He's made three Pro Bowls in a row and you're basing this "washed" narrative on half a season playing on a bottom 3 team in the league.

It's fine to say it's an overpay but there's no chance a guy at 28 is washed, he's in his prime if anything.

Most elite players across the league are his age +/- a year or two.

And as mentioned previously, there are elite DT's all across the league still dominating right now at 31/32 in terms of Buckner, Williams and Heyward.

Haha, I watched the DC.com podcast when the news broke and Nate Newton was beside himself with happiness. I thought at one point he was almost going to cry he was so overjoyed. Said this is the move he's been asking them to make for 30 years now.

I love Nate because he's not a homer and one of the few who will honestly call out guys he doesn't like.

He’s not useless washed, but this price is the price to pay for 12 sack Quinnen Williams.

Ok, so his two sack pace this year isn’t representative of his ability. His 6 and 5.5 sack years the past two seasons surely are, though.

This is a Micah Parsons payment for a guy who was older and no longer as good in that tier.

It’s not a trade we won.

And the fact that it’s the option of whichever first is higher is the real kicker. Awful. There’s not even a chance we come out with a better pick. It should have been whichever first was worse.
