Got to get better on defense, not sure what adjustments can be made except for folks to keep improving or for Eberflus to simplify things somehow.

We’ve truly screwed the pooch defensively, hiring guys like Murray and Sanborn to fit a system vs their actually being talented. It’s clear to the rest of the team they are made men and so there’s no point in competing for a starting spot because there’s no way he’s going to promote you over his class favs. The truly awful thing is they aren’t really implementing the system, whatever that may be.

That’s the core of our problem, we’ve created the opposite situation of what the coaches have done with the OL whose coaches actually taught and coached a system based around player strengths.

And what’s it gotten us? Two very low-rated linebackers to go with a DL already lacking punch.

And to think, we thought LB could be a strength for this team.

Going to take a lot more than a healthy Overshown to help this. How do you fix a broken system mid-season??

In that case, though, I don't think we have anyone any better. It's totally unlike WR or OL in that way. In fact, we barely even have bodies there.

At least I do think James will soon make Sanborn a short yardage kind of player only, but he's the only one.

Surely we make a trade at some point. Still think Tolbert could be worth a competent LB to someone. Not great, but competent. Now if only Jerry and Stephen would be willing to lose him.

Sometimes these fantastic minds at the coordinator positions don’t really make good head coaches…yes they make the jump … maybe.. but flop big time and go right back to being a coordinator.
