Somewhat, but depending on the return I think I might even prefer trading him.
He's a special player for sure, but he's also very undersized and needs to be protected both by the scheme and by having certain types of players around him. I don't think we've done a great job on either, and adding more undersized edge rushers like Fowler and Ezeiruaku doesn't help.
All that is to say that if we can move him for a properly-sized DE like Greg Rousseau, Rashan Gary or Travon Walker, plus two 1's, I think that's something you have to very seriously consider.
We'd be getting a player who can probably give us about 80% of what Parsons does, it'd balance our run defense out a bit, and we'd have the flexibility to do whatever we want over the next two drafts, be it moving for a potential franchise QB, or maybe even moving up for an elite position player to further balance out the DL like Peter Woods.
Now if we're talking just getting two 1's and a 3? Sure, that's disappointing and stupid, but I could easily argue for certain trade scenarios instead of extending him at 42-45/year.
