For what he's shooting for, it works. He doesn't care if it's good or bad attention. As long as it's attention. Look no further than this place as proof at how he can whip people into a lather. He doesn't care what's being said, as long as people are talking.
You don't maintain the Forbes #1 spot for a decade+ by accident.

The guy clearly is a winner.

The Cowboys never have to win another Super Bowl and he will still live the rest of his life knowing he's built the wealthiest team in sports.

So there is NO convincing this man that he is doing it the wrong way.

He's taken the Landry days legacy and the success of Jimmy's early 90s teams and turned it into a franchise that fans will never leave and other fans will always hate.

To be fair, Parsons just needs to just f'ing hold out. This half-assed practice participation is doing no one any favors. Flat out he needs to pull a Zeke.

Jerry has a point, Micah IS under contract and just because Myles Garrett and TJ Watt got paid doesn't mean Micah must get paid immediately afterwards.

Asides from the fact that both those guys are at least four years ahead of Micah and have each defensive MVP awards and 20+ sack seasons while Micah is still on his rookie deal. Whatever he's done, he's not in their class, or at least he hasn't proven it.

Micah needs to exit camp, insure his ass with Lloyds of London, and force Dallas to the bargaining table.

Otherwise he has zero leverage. Right now Dallas can just option-tag-tag him the next three years. From their perspective, why rush to pay him more?

This is almost certainly wild speculation that means nothing, but I appreciate the balls of a team-affiliated media entity in bringing up a topic like this.

I wouldn't be completely shocked if Jerry was one of these ultra-rich types who can't stop rolling the dice, and who shifts around debt to keep making gambles.

Starts around the 9 minute mark.

One thing on what they said, I remember years ago -- like 20 or so years ago -- an article on Jerry's finances, and he was not a stock investor. In fact he was very conservative on that front, mostly just safe bonds, which surprised some people given his wildcatter persona. So I doubt he's losing a bunch of money on volatile stocks. Obviously these small companies he invests in rise and fall, but I doubt he gets hurt badly by those like an average joe speculator would.

I have wondered what he means when he says that he's taken more risk lately. But I thought it could just mean that salaries are so high that you're risking more if you're wrong on a player.

Yea I think the simplest explanation is that he's a cheap old man who also likes the negative attention that these protracted contract situations bring.

He'd incur stiff daily fines that can't be wiped away.
Relative to the two hundred million of his contract, really not much, right?

But I get it. Maybe it's even more distracting to actually be there and doing nothing.

But this "hold-in" approach seems to be indicating to Jerral that Micah will be playing game 1, which he prolly won't be without a new contract or at least significant progress towards one.

So Micah needs to actually hold out, like Zeke, and force the issue

I don't think Parson's has or will have a 200 million dollar contract.
