This might belong in the Nostalgia Thread, but I am refusing to post it there.

We now are at that stage where this was deemed “success”.

Every team overexaggerates their own history, even the non-Super Bowl stuff, so whatever. And that team was borderline Super Bowl caliber to begin with.

Unlike the 2009, 2016 and 2021-23 teams, that team didn't choke like a fucking dog in the playoffs, although they sure tried against the Lions.

I also think the current group could potentially get to something near that level in a few years depending on how Guyton turns out. We need another OT (either left or right with Guyton potentially shifting right) but if Guyton can just be an above average LT this group could get close.

:lol

That's exactly what I was going to say -- that this is proof that this asshole is in cahoots with the devil.

He'll never die.

:doh
No one has beaten Father Time. Tik Tok Jerry.

And honestly, the majority of people who have beaten cancer usually have shortened life spans due to the treatments taking a toll on their organs. Jerry sure sounds out of breath these days.

Seriously, he said in an interview yesterday or today that he had to get both hips replaced because the PD-1 eats away your bones (in effect). Crazy. I vaguely remember when he had to get at least one of them replaced.

McClay is a goddamn genius.

It is all about trying and the goal is getting better.

I wonder what he gets paid to say these things?

If it is about what a low level GM makes, good for him. And it is no wonder why he does not want a real GM job.

He's just parroting the company line, knows he has a job for life that way, and I'm guessing that's also why he's never left for an actual GM job.

He's also basically the de facto GM when it comes to the draft in my opinion, the other stuff probably either doesn't interest him as much or he might not be confident in being in charge of it all as he would be as a GM elsewhere.

Wasted talent — no chance for a Super Bowl without DT talent.

But they entertained the shit out of us.
