I don't know..... This feels different.
In all of their holdouts with their own stars, I don't recall Jerry being sour about the process like he's being right now.
The closest thing I can recall was Emmitt's holdout and that was all the way back in 1993.
I've never feared losing our homegrown players because we never do -- we ALWAYS sign them.
But like I said, this feels different to me.
This does feel a good bit like the Emmitt holdout. And yet, it worked out then.
I'd say the fact that Micah is in camp (even if it's a 'hold in') speaks volumes.
There's not as much animosity as there's being made out to be.
And no one's talking about the fact that the team has quite a bit of leverage even if he decided to hold out. Because even after this season they can franchise him. And they demonstrated with Dak that they'll do exactly that if they have to.
Micah doesn't have a ton of leverage and his agent knows it. Which is why they're trying the drama tactic.
Don't get me wrong, I'm sure there's animosity at this point. I think there was with Dak too, and yet here he still is.
I think there was with CD, with Zeke, with Martin, with Lawrence... it's what they do. I don't think it helps the team, but it doesn't mean we're going to lose the player.
