I'm curious now, since everyone is blaming Jerry and Goof Son, what is the max you would pay Micah? At what point would you say, sorry, that's just absurd, and not do it?
Depends on the years, but if it's a 4 year deal I'd draw the line at 42.5/year on principle alone.

Bingo. I heard the Ticket talking about irreconcilable differences, point of no return, etc.

Come on, is this our first rodeo? This is just business, not personal. All kinds of things are going to be said. None of it matters the minute they agree on a contract.
I don't know..... This feels different.

In all of their holdouts with their own stars, I don't recall Jerry being sour about the process like he's being right now.

The closest thing I can recall was Emmitt's holdout and that was all the way back in 1993.

I've never feared losing our homegrown players because we never do -- we ALWAYS sign them.

But like I said, this feels different to me.

I think that's fair.

I also think it's very possible the agent is asking for more than this right now.

I was thinking about Emmitt today and how under the radar cheap/petty this team is.

Think about the fact that Emmitt led the league in rushing in 91 and 92, led the league in TD's in 92, was the engine of the offense that won the Super Bowl and was coming off a historically great playoff performance on top of all that.

And Jerry let him sit out the first 2 games in 93 for...who knows why?

If they were willing to dick around with a player like that it explains all of this.

And that holdout would've gone on longer had they not started 0-2.

This does feel a good bit like the Emmitt holdout. And yet, it worked out then.

I'd say the fact that Micah is in camp (even if it's a 'hold in') speaks volumes.

There's not as much animosity as there's being made out to be.

And no one's talking about the fact that the team has quite a bit of leverage even if he decided to hold out. Because even after this season they can franchise him. And they demonstrated with Dak that they'll do exactly that if they have to.

Micah doesn't have a ton of leverage and his agent knows it. Which is why they're trying the drama tactic.

Don't get me wrong, I'm sure there's animosity at this point. I think there was with Dak too, and yet here he still is.

I think there was with CD, with Zeke, with Martin, with Lawrence... it's what they do. I don't think it helps the team, but it doesn't mean we're going to lose the player.

Yea I think Stephen likes to play these bullshit games because he knows he's relatively powerless and wants to drive the players/agents into feeling a sense of urgency.

Obviously it doesn't really work, but hey.

Damn, 1.5 million views in under 15 minutes.

If all this is true -- if -- Jerry is about to get some shit like he's never seen. Well maybe with Jimmy.
