Putting Lawrence in would be tantamount to putting in Jim Jeffcoat or some such, it's ridiculous.

And Jeffcoat is even more deserving probably.
JJ definitely more deserving.

He does look slimmer which I think is a good thing.
For sure, but not even when he was rookie did he EVER have Lamar Jackson levels of athleticism.

Hopefully this makes him a little quicker when he does have to use his feet, but he was never fast nor agile as a runner, so that's certainly not going to change now a just because he shed some weight in his 30s.

His production is a bit off because it was his first year at Texas, Ewers is a bit of a shit bird and they were run-heavy, but he dominated late in the season in the biggest games, so I'm comfortable with it.
That part in bold is why I'm absolutely sold on him.

The guy is a gamer.

I watched them waiting for Bond to show me a reason to like him and honestly Golden and Helm were the two guys who stood out. Every time they needed a clutch play it was one of those two.

It was like watching Oregon waiting for their receiver who went back to school to stand out and it was always Tez Johnson who I came away impressed with.

To be fair to Bond, what he did best was stretch the field but Ewers with his pop gun arm could never put the ball out in front of him.

So my problem with Bond was what I loved about Worthy. Deeps balls weren't accurate for Worthy either but that dude would adjust, come back and make awesome big plays. Then I watch Bond and the throw would be off and he wouldn't do anything to adjust and make a play on the ball.

And I get Bond isn't the player Worthy was at Texas. But the difference was very noticeable to me. Maybe Bond would be good with an accurate deep ball thrower. But not for us then...

You're not completely wrong on him.

He's got incredible speed and he can go from 0-100 in no time.

He can get down the field or he can take a short pass and go the distance. But ..... He's not a great route runner and I always thought he was a bit over hyped as an all around player.

Still, with the right QB the guy would have likely put up 1200 yards and 10 scores the past season.

I think he's better suited to be a really good weapon as a 3rd WR whereas Golden has the potential to be an elite #2.

Why?

Because he leveled nearly the same kind of production but was not a clown like Lawrence?

I agree.
Just liked how he was an unheralded UTEP guy who made plays without a bunch of hype and fuss.
