I don't think anybody is wondering if he WILL take the job. Only if he'd be good at it or not. Also, it's a lot of work and he'd make far less as a GM compared to being a broadcaster. He doesn't need that at this point in his life.
I don't know but we need someone capable of manipulating Jerry at this point. Because surrounding him with yes men is how we get where we are. I'm tired of where we are. Do I think Aikman could have some sway with Jerry, absolutely. Will he want the job or Jerry want him, odds say not likely.Nobody knows whether Aikman would be good or not but he's different from the status quo, which is an obvious win. I also think he's acutely aware and even personally driven by Jerry's incompetence given how his career ended, and would want to prove a point.
Would he be capable? Who knows but I bet it'd be much closer to how much most teams operate.
I think he's a smart guy who always prepares to be the best and he cares about the legacy of winning.I've never understood why people are so sure Troy Aikman would be a good GM. Would he be better than Jerry? Well, yeah. Of course. But why would he be a GOOD GM? Do we automatically think he'd be able to understand what makes a good DT and how he'd fit into a certain scheme? Or the thousand other things that a good GM should know/do?
Wait are you serious on the tape thing? And he played for 12 years at the most important position, so even that amount is significant. He’s had so much exposure across the league. The guy has done nothing but NFL football playing and analysis since 1989, and his job affords him access to almost anyone in the league.I don't agree with that at all. Has he ever worked in an NFL front office? I doubt he has studied much tape, outside of when he played. To say he's just as qualified as any other GM is pretty crazy. And as far as a network? Yeah, he's talked to people around the league. But I doubt talking to people in passing or to prepare for an upcoming game is the same as a GM talking to others around the league.
He would suck at the weekly radio shows.Wait are you serious on the tape thing? And he played for 12 years at the most important position, so even that amount is significant. If he had any interest, he’s had every opportunity to learn and connect with any org at almost any level. It’s a ridiculous level of access his job alone grants him, let alone his player network.
All I know is if he had true aspirations, he’d be qualified and prepared.
Yeah. I'm dead serious. If you think he's watching and studying tape of some FCS defensive back or even some FBS linebacker from a second tier school, I don't know what to tell you.Wait are you serious on the tape thing?
Right, but it's literally just him and no one else.
If more former players were critical like Troy, I'm certain it would bring more media heat to Jerry.
He may not change, but he hates when the media questions him so if for no other reason than to make his ass miserable, I'd love to see the media come after him but for that to happen, more players have to speak up.
I’m saying if he was serious about being a GM, he would know exactly how to do so. He has both the skills and network, coupled with great access.Yeah. I'm dead serious. If you think he's watching and studying tape of some FCS defensive back or even some FBS linebacker from a second tier school, I don't know what to tell you.
Irk Jerruh? SureI do now believe that we will be having a much different offseason than we would have thought just a few weeks ago... After assuredly squirming his way through watching the NFC championship game featuring two NFC East teams, his massive ego will overtake his love of money because, while he may be OK with the annual one and out of the playoffs, there is no way he is going to accept being relegated to 3rd place in the division.
Like John Lynch? Not a fan of it. Like Witten, it would give the appearance of someone being "installed" or "anointed" instead of working his way up like everyone else in the league.
Loser organization getting what they deserve
No one can do it better he saysBest damn GM in the bidness, nobody doing this shit any better
Without context, he yelled at Moore there. I would not go as far as raging or undressing. He was a veteran player at the end of his career dealing with a first year OC who many, I’m sure players included, didn’t feel was qualified to be in the position.
