Yeah, the whole HC search has illustrated to me how much of an albatross Prescott has now become.
If you're saying he's an albatross because of his contract, I'll have to disagree.

In my opinion the problem with the HC search is Jerry Jones and how the Cowboys do business overall. I don't think the highly desirable HC candidates view the Cowboys as a good job.

Damn near every other team in the NFL has figured out how to pay their franchise QB and still manage to pay others, but somehow Dak's contract always cripples the Cowboys' ability to add talent to the roster.

Dak has his flaws but I'm not putting the Cowboys only being interested in shitty HC candidates on him.

We were crippled before Dak ever got his contract in terms of adding free agents. Drives me nuts but I guess it plays well with the idiots that have no idea about the salary cap.

I think it's shit that they blame Dak or Parsons or Lamb or whoever else is good on the team for their lack of free agent activities. It is an outright lie. And I can't believe people actually drink that up and believe it.

Remember when most of us thought that if there were no salary cap how Jerry would pay to have the best roster in the league every year? :lol

Could not have been more wrong.
I'm still not sure how Deion got him to spread his legs.

Jerry once upon a time was loose with money and players. But he has been a born again virgin for a long time living on his past.

There's nothing to argue.

Jerry was never competent as a GM and now he's ancient and at the end of his abilities.

Stephen is equally incompetent. He's at the height of his abilities, but he doesn't care about football or the team or winning.

Jerry, at the very, very least, cared about the Dallas Cowboys. Not because I think he was ever a real fan or wanted to amplify the greatness that Schramm and Landry had imparted, but because he loved himself and wanted glory for himself and realized that as a billionaire oilman he'd get no national glory but as the owner (and "football man,"/GM) of a nationally adored sports franchise, he'd get glory and adoration for helming them to championships.

Stephen could not possibly care less.

Stephen has disdain for the team. Stephen is a business man only. He's a capologist. He's a money mover. He's an accountant who doesn't give two shits about football. Stephen threw Jerry up against the wall to stop him from signing Deion, drafting Manziel instead of Martin, or blowing megacontracts on free agency, not because Stephen has some sort of insightful devotion to building a team "the right way" and because he's committed to seeing that through.

No, Stephen doesn't want his dotard old turd of a father to waste money on Deion or free agents, or blow a draft pick on Manziel, because it's not safe, affordable budgeting. Drafting Manziel is risky and if it doesn't work out then they have wasted money.

And what Stephen wants more than anything else is money. Money for his inheritance. Money for his offspring. Money for his other business ventures.

That's all Stephen cares about. It was probably Stephen who pushed for Parcells, because Stephen knew that Parcells was a requirement to get the goodwill to get the stadium built, which... you guessed it... would make them lots and lots of MONEY. Remember when Stephen was the one who got up in Parcells' face about who was really in charge when Parcells tried to keep the Joneses out of the locker room?

Stephen doesn't give two shits about the Dallas Cowboys winning. Stephen only cares about the Dallas Cowboys losing him money that he can use for his land holdings company.

I don’t think anybody is blaming Dak , Lamb , or Parson for that matter. It’s all about the contracts…. Lamb well deserving.. Parsons will be well deserving … Dak , however, wasn’t worth the first contract he signed soooooo let’s give him even more on the 2nd .. the dude is damaged goods and crumbles under pressure so let’s pay like an elite QB …. Jerry is the one to blame! It’s all Jerry and his band of merry morons …

Why is Jerry doing this? Letting your cheap ass dollar store son talk you into everything against your very nature doesn't make any sense.

Because Jerry is old and is about family now. This is Jerry's way of passing the torch. You'd think a life time around the NFL would teach his son something but he has learned nothing. He is a cheap version of Jerry.

The weird thing is, the Fan guys who do the Jerry show were saying Jerry hates it when you suggest that 1) he might not be the one in charge and 2) he's cheap and/or can't afford something. And here he's almost telling the world both of those things.
