We aren't going to suck and in fact I think we'll be very good.

If we can sort out the LT situation I think this roster will be as good or better than 2023. We may not win 12 games but I'm expecting 10ish for sure.

We all know the story with the playoffs.

Yea, these are arguably the best passing game weapons we've had around him throughout his entire career. 2021 is up there but I think this group is comparable to that one.

The RB's are probably weaker, but I could see them getting close to matching the production Elliott/Pollard put up that year: 1721 combined yards rushing (4.7 YPC), 12 TD's, 624 yards receiving

The OL's will probably end up being roughly the same as long as LT is sorted out like I mentioned earlier.

They are the unqualified who suddenly became “qualified” through years of fumbling about like fools. Cap waiter guy would not find a new job if the Cowboys disappeared.
It would be fun to name every person in the Cowboys, starting with Jerry, who would be given another opportunity at job in an NFL organization if they were fired tomorrow.
I bet there’s literally less than 5.

In terms of football specific operations (excluding coaches and players obviously) I'd say McClay and some of the other scouts, maybe some of the random data people and athletic trainer types that they're always crowing about, that's about it.

The defense is much better with him. He's one of the biggest impact players in the league, and at times nearly unblockable.

He has skills that are very difficult to find.

Run defense pluggers you can find. Guys don't get paid for that.
Prediction: Cowboys squeak into the wildcard and we're all bitching as our tiny, highest paid non QB in the history of the NFL, is getting annihilated as some team runs it down our throat in yet another early playoff exit.

Probably, if we make it at all. I certainly don't think we're going far.

Our failures in the playoffs are hardly the fault of Parsons. He is far, far down the list of that. He's not nearly as bad against the run as you like to claim. Yeah, it's not his strength. But he's not a liability, either. Certainly not to the level you claim. Pinning your angst on him is patently retarded.

Since you like AI answers so much...

AI Overview

While Micah Parsons is an exceptional pass rusher, he is not considered a liability against the run, but he also isn't a dominant run stopper. His performance against the run is often debated, with some analysts pointing to his size and occasional struggles against double teams, while others highlight his strong run defense PFF grade and ability to set the edge.

Here's a more detailed breakdown:
Strengths:
  • Edge setting:
Parsons is known for his ability to set the edge effectively against the run, preventing running backs from getting outside.

  • Run defense grade:
He has a solid run defense grade from Pro Football Focus, indicating he is not a complete liability against the run.

  • Run stop wins:
Some metrics show him performing well in run stop situations, even outperforming some other highly regarded run defenders.
Areas for Improvement:
  • Size and Strength:
Parsons is not the biggest player at his position, and some opponents have been able to move him out of the way in certain run blocking schemes.

  • Double Teams:
He can struggle when facing double teams, which can lead to him being washed out of plays designed to go straight at him.

  • Consistency:
While he has strong moments, his consistency against the run can be inconsistent, and some argue he needs to be more impactful in that area.
Overall:
Micah Parsons is a dynamic player who excels at rushing the passer. While his run defense isn't his primary strength, he is not a complete liability in that area. He has the potential to be a better run defender and is capable of making impactful plays against the run, especially when he is not facing constant double teams. His ability to set the edge and make tackles in the backfield are key components of his run defense.

I'm just tired of all the bullshit with him. He's being misused by putting a 240 pounder on the DL over 80% of the time. His stupid fucking podcast, his 180 on his statement that he didn't have to be the highest paid, and the annual performance fade at the end of the year.

If you think our failure to go further in the playoffs is Micah's fault, I don't know what to tell you but you're wrong.

This team has holes still - potentially DT, CB, OL, RB, depth - but Micah isn't one of them.

Agree with the holes. And they'll probably never be filled unless they hit draft after draft out of the park.

How the fuck can a team be so mid with the highest paid QB in history, a WR with a top 3 contract, the soon to be highest paid non QB in history, and the soon to be highest paid OG in history?

Why do I feel like complaining about the podcast is something you would accuse boomers of doing? :shrug

Because at times it is detrimental to the team. Like ranking QBs in the NFL and leaving your own out? :lol

I can't believe this is even an argument but I guess that's what happens when we get bored during the offseason. Anyway, Parsons has never been 240 pounds since entering the NFL. Parsons doesn't get mauled in the running game, again just not true. The actual flaw Parsons has? He gets confused by misdirection. Thats actually what his weakness is. He is so aggressive that he pursues one guy and misdirection can have the ball going a totally different direction.

So if we want to be real about his weakness, that's his actual real weakness. Has nothing to do with being 245-250 pounds.
