Yeah, Hatcher was just a nickel rusher type until after Parcells was gone. Bill thought Spears was Leonard Marshall (I may have also :unsure) and Canty was cheap because he might only have one eye. Plus we were switching to the 34 and literally didn't have any of those type players.

I do think it's fair to say Bill valued the front seven more than Jerry, though.

Haven’t done the mock sites.

PFF - 3 round
Matthew Golden
Trevyon Henderson
Jordan Phillips DT Maryland

PFSN 7 rounds. Trades were realistic so I traded twice. Picks got unrealistic the further it went.

Nobody said anything about reeding shit, Mr. Dramatics. My only comment was about you stating we don’t ever draft them. Which is false.

And I stand by those three mentioned as being nothing special. They were ok players. Nothing more. No matter how much you fluff them up. Foundational…. Yeah. Sure.
Agree and agree.

No one is adding them to the HOF, and I never said so. It was a fluke we got Canty because his stock dropped as a result of the pre draft the bar fight cut on his eye. Guys like him help control the LOS, which is something we don’t do well now and haven’t done for decades.

The only offense that really tore us up in 2007 was New England, and they tore everyone up. We stuffed the offenses of Packers and Giants, and crushed them each with double digits wins.

When was the last time we did that to the NFC Championship game teams?

ESPN's final mock

12. Dallas Cowboys
Todd Archer's pick: Tetairoa McMillan, WR, Arizona

The Cowboys need playmakers for Dak Prescott and McMillan fills that role. He might not have the desirable speed, but he can make plays in traffic and has a big catch radius. If the Cowboys want speed then the pick would be Texas wide receiver Matthew Golden, who had the fastest 40-yard dash at the combine (4.29 seconds). The Cowboys can still help Prescott in the second round with a running back.

SI.com

12. Dallas Cowboys
Mike Green, edge, Marshall

The Cowboys need a lot, but imagine Green and Micah Parsons next to one another for just one second. Incoming DC Matt Eberflus thrives on a system that is largely blitz averse, allowing his players at the line of scrimmage to stunt, twist and game their way to success. Green and Parsons could form a bash brothers coalition that can make a dent even against the powerful, but possibly a little stiff, Eagles offensive line.

I thought there was no way you can screw up this draft completely. BTB proving me wrong with their mock draft.

1 Johnson CB Michigan
2 Higgins WR Iowa State
3 Jordan Burch Edge Oregon
5 Luke Kandra G Cincy
5 Tahj Brooks Rab Tx Tech
6 Jason Dumas-Johnson LB Kentucky
6 Zeek Biggers DT Ga Tech
7 Hollin Pierce OT Rutgers
7 Maliki Matavco TE UCLA
7 Malian Stovall WR AZ St

I don’t hate Johnson but Golden is right there. Take him. With Golden in the first I would have taken Tre’ Von Henderson in the 2nd and Alfred Collins in the 3rd. The rest are whatever. I like Brooks in the 5th but I don’t want to count on him(or Miles Sanders) as our starter.
Hey...hey...hey!

Slow down on your Biggers hate.

would be shocked if we took a corner, esp if both wideouts are still on the board

Tim Cowlishaw, columnist
Will Johnson, CB, Michigan: Cowboys fans will love this pick right up until the commissioner says “University of Michigan.” After memories of Taco Charlton and Mazi Smith begin to fade, fans will realize that getting a 6-2 cover corner at the top of this draft is exactly what Dallas needs after losing Jourdan Lewis to Jacksonville and with Trevon Diggs recovering from injury. There’s a chance Johnson goes before the Cowboys’ turn at 12, but a knee injury (Cowboys love players with injury histories) should allow him to slide right into the Cowboys’ slot.

David Moore, Cowboys insider
Tetairoa McMillan, WR, Arizona: An argument can be made that he’s the best receiver in this draft. Well, the best not named Travis Hunter, who happens to double as a corner. McMillan would give the Cowboys the big receiver and potential red-zone threat it has lacked in recent years.

Kevin Sherrington, columnist
Jahdae Barron, DB, Texas: The Cowboys will probably take a wide receiver here because it’s a shallow pool of starting-caliber talent, but I like what Barron brings across the board. Smart, versatile, fast, opportunistic. Great leader and teammate. He can play inside or outside and even a little bit of safety, which would be important in a secondary with as many holes as the Cowboys have.

Calvin Watkins, Cowboys insider
Matthew Golden, WR, Texas: Golden’s 40 time (4.29) at the combine sets him apart from several of the top receivers in this class. He is more than speed; he caught 58 passes for 987 yards with nine TDs for the Longhorns.

I hate everything about this. A knee injury means we have a chance at 12? A knee injury means we should say hell no.

Does Jourdan Lewis mean we should be looking for a corner at 12? Jesus talk about overkill. Will Johnson would have far more to do with Diggs and his injury than the loss of a slot only corner in free agency. I loved Lewis but he shouldn't be the reason at all you NEED Will Johnson. He might be the reason you need Parish or some other middle round corner who can play the slot. But if you're drafting Will Johnson that tells me far more about the future of Diggs in Dallas.

And we aren't about to hand Bland a big ass contract because we view him as a slot corner. So if we use a top pick on a corner, I think it's because Diggs is on his way out.

Pretty sure that's just Cowlishaw being lazy. He's jaded from covering 100 of these and I'm sure doesn't care enough anymore to look into either team needs or the player.

I'm sure, and I'm not even saying we won't draft Will Johnson because we very well may. I just think his reasoning is stupid as hell. If we draft Will Johnson I think it's because Digg's rehab is going poorly and the team wants to move on. Or the new defensive coordinator thinks he is a poor fit because of poor tackling which wouldn't shock me at all.

I doubt he makes it there but that's the kind of spot I'd see a Booker making sense. A place where the value is too good to pass up. He reminds me a little of the Florida guard O'Cyrus Torrence. Sure fire first round pick that dropped to the late second round. Big boy, similar forty, limited foot speed, all power. I think Torrence started 16 games for the Bills last year. Not sure how he played.

Giants have had one fing Hell of a draft
Abdul Carter was a no brainer. He should have went 2nd, if not first. But understandable with teams wanting QBs.

Their next two picks I wouldn't quite put in the 'fing hell of a draft' category. It can turn out well for them. But I'm not nearly as sold on Dart as some are. And Alexander I think will be steady. Nothing spectacular. Not a bad pick, but not one to get excited over, either.

Carter and Alexander are nice, Dart is meh.
Their defensive front just got a lot better, I think, and they got a guy in the 3rd some folks here would have been happy with even in the second

I’ve always thought of him as a third rounder with upside
