14 tackles no sacks for a DE, yeah he was bad.
He was hurt for a lot of it and a rookie with not a lot of playing time at the beginning of the season behind Lawrence. I really dont think you can say how good or bad he was.

Overall, they are fleshing out the roster with players at the right places to recoup loss.

Thing is most of them are dice rolls. Williams, Sanborn and Thomas are probably the three you can say will definitely stick at least in a back up capacity.

Things are looking up, fellas. We hadn't done jack and shit by this time last year.
Most of these signings are lateral moves. I don’t think anyone can state we have improved the roster at all, but if Jerry and Rosie go way out of their comfort zone signing a couple difference makers from FA and a solid draft, it might get us to the playoffs again. Maybe.

Yea I think he could easily end up starting for us this year, and in a good way, but it's an unknown even if I'm bullish on him.

You would think Denver would be signing all these WalMart quality players, but no, it's your Dallas Cowboys.

So many fuckin holes now.

WR2 is a complete mediocrity. Jalen Tolbert. Burned a 4th on a bum, Mingo. I think we've seen enough Jalen Brooks to know he's not the answer, so you can only hope for a draft pick to be ready or that Flournoy takes a huge step forward.

I thought when he played he played well and flashed. But injuries obviously limited that.

I thought he was ok when he played. Calling him bad seems harsh.

We definitely shouldn't be counting on him as a starter or even major contributor though. Same with Williams.

Two second round picks at DE and you can't even count on them to start. To me Kneeland is a little like counting on Guyton at LT. You took him in the second round of the draft so that year two he would be ready to fill the Lawrence role. I didn't see anything as a rookie that made me think he can't be that type of player. You expect growing pains but you have to count on these high picks to develop otherwise you might as well not bother drafting them at all. Draft and develop means you sort of have to count on some of these guys to develop.

And I actually like Sam Williams. But God he is a bone head. And the injury last year sucked because that year three I think could have been a breakout year for him.

My biggest concern with both of them is more the injuries than anything.

It's hard to judge how far along either of them are in both health and ability.

Guyton made a bunch of mental errors last year, he needs that coached out of him, plus he needs a bunch of work in the weight room. How he looks physically coming into next year will tell me a lot, he has the frame to hold some really good weight but if he looks like a doughy schlub again I won't be too enthused about his chances.

For what it's worth Schottenheimer called praised him a few weeks ago for being in the weight room every day so we'll see.

Watched some all-22 on Murray and he's not as bad as the random schlubs on Twitter would have you believe.

You can tell that his processing is only average at best and he seems to do some boneheaded things every now and again (late hits), but overall he's decent enough in coverage, usually in decent position against the run, and he's really a weapon as a blitzer. The biggest negative is that he tends to stick to blocks when OL get out on him quickly against the run, but you'd hope your LB's aren't being asked to constantly take on OL who are climbing clean to the 2nd level or else you have a real problem with your DL.

He obviously needs things dumbed down for him a bit but if you can make things simple for him he can definitely be a playmaker attacking downhill. Eberflus and Borgonzi have done a good job both getting more with less out of their LB's going all the way back to when they were in Dallas (Bruce Carter, Rolando McClain, Anthony Hitchens) and being able to identify and cultivate higher end talents (Darius Leonard, Tremaine Edmunds), so I trust that they know what they're looking for.

If the assumption is that you have promising young guys that you want to hedge against (Liufau being just a 2nd year guy and Overshown with the injuries) then someone like Murray is probably roughly what you want. I'd say he's similar to a guy in EJ Speed who I would've been pretty pleased with, throw in Sanborn and there's enough for me to feel comfortable with at least one position.
