I haven’t seen anyone run on Alabama like this in a while
The rapid fall off from Saban to Deboer has surprised me. I expected them to take a step back after Saban's retirement, but not this much. They look like they're on the fast-track back to that WGAS program they were a decade before Saban's arrival.

Last year was the first year since 2006 (Saban's first season) that they finished with a single-digit win total.

Agreed, most of these guys were very underwhelming but it's also week 1 and there's a long way to go.

The only real takeaway is I can't see Manning coming out after this season. He may just flat out suck in which case it's all moot anyway, but even if he plays well he's so underdeveloped that he needs an extra year, and the general consensus already seemed to be that he'd go back for another year anyway.
I didn't notice his throwing motion until BB and others pointed it out. Philip Rivers made it work but I expected the mechanics of a "generational talent" to be more polished. He looked like Uncle Rico out there.

I seem to recall Philip Rivers saying his form came from throwing a full size football when he was a small kid.

@Texas Ace are you ready to issue a formal apology to Quinn Ewers?

If Arch's nerves were that bad playing a regular season game vs Ohio State, just imagine how rattled he'd look in CFB playoff games where the lights are even brighter.

Yeah. I may have been too hasty the other day in informing Ace that Ewers should be back. I reserve the right to change my mind at a later date.

They tried to coach it out of David Carr and failed.

Sellers has absolutely no pocket presence or feel for the rush, unless that improves he's a hard pass for me.

FSU's QB really called his shot.

A Saban coached team would've embarrassed someone calling them out like that.

Pretty fucking ballsy. I like it. He played his ass off and delivered

I think Dylan Stewart is in the same class as someone like Ryan Williams who would go top 10 this coming year if they were eligible.

Not quite on the same level of Jeremiah Smith who is probably going to be one of the best WR prospects ever, but not too far off.
