Diggs is a friggin‘ bum. The guy had one great season, 2 good to ok seasons and now that he‘s cashed in he cant cover anybody.
He's one of those fairweather CBs. Has good hands, loves to sit back and break on balls and rack up stats when he has a great pass rush in front of him. But doesn't want to do the dirty work when the going gets tough.

It’s possible this team doesn’t win another game this season.

Outside of effort, because we can always look at that, it is hard to judge the performance of any of our defensive players since they are playing on a defense built to play with a lead and are also playing short handed.

These guys might be out of position and lose discipline because they feel like they have to do too much. For example, sometimes I want to wring Donovan Wilson’s neck, and other times I totally get why he didn’t make the play he should have.

The offense that should be building the lead is a mess, clearly a rebuilding year for the OL with the left half and center young as shit and the right side aging and under-performing their contracts.

RB is a total laugher, and injuries and a lack of planning have left us with only one proven WR. Ferguson is strong, and if it wasn’t for Dak’s jitters and the predictable nature of our attack, I think he’d be turning in more of a breakout performance.

Dak needs a strong running attack to be comfortable, that’s the number one factor to his uneven year. Every QB needs this, so we can’t really unleash our frustrations on Dak, either.

This shit show of a year lands squarely at Jerry’s feet, and he flat refuses to take the blame

cherry picking

Lookit, there’s only so much pie. Hands are tied.

That's the thing, they keep using this excuse but even if it's true (it's not), it's inexcusable either way.

Because a competent front office doesn't paint itself into a corner where they have no available resources to improve a team that already proved itself to be not nearly good enough.

It's very obvious when watching other games how inconsistent the effort is from our defensive players. The aggression and sharpness of the angles just doesn't look the same when watching a defense like the Colts who are looking to knock heads and gang tackle downhill constantly.

You see the aggression here and there from our defense but as soon as things start going a bit sideways you can see them kind of getting back on their heels and loafing around.

Obviously there are personnel issues but it's pretty clear that the vibe/culture around the team is completely rotten, I guess you could say they haven't fully quit yet but that's most assuredly right around the corner.
That same description can be used on just about every Cowboy team in the last 20 years. Everyone with a brain knows where the ultimate issue lies and unfortunately the whole Jones family sucks at running a football team just as you pointed out. The future looks very bleak indeed.
