That team isn’t so loaded without their two star WRs and Baker still almost willed his team to beat the champs.

He did and props to him, but he didn’t get to where he is now without his top WR talents and his defense greatly helping his maturation.

There are probably hundreds of QBs who missed long careers with pro-bowls, being voted all-pro, or even the Hall of Fame because they never got the opportunity to learn the NFL for years as a starter and/or with top talent. Mayfield could barely pass the football before being thrust into a starting role by default on a seriously strong Tampa team. Hell, his lack of talent alone might have prevented them from going to another Superbowl, or deep into the playoffs in 2023. But now somehow on this stacked, veteran team he’s found his role and his confidence.

Think of Tom Brady if Drew Bledsoe never gets internal bleeding in 2001. Dude prolly sits on the bench for years, maybe gets cut or traded, and then to a team with shit coaching and a bad defense that can’t keep his ass in games. With the pedigree of a late round afterthought draft pick, Brady might have disappeared altogether.

If you put Dak on that team they'd be better, their running game and defense is light years beyond ours.

If you put the version of the team that played the Falcons out there last night they'd have allowed about 35-40 points (in regulation) and ran for about 48 total yards (15 from Lamb).
