Sorry to be a Debbie downer but nothing will ever change here until the problem realizes it's the problem. The same problem that didn't realize that we needed to address the rb situation in the offseason.

For now the Cowboys for us are just a shitty entertainment option that you're better off doing other things if you want success.

What will happen is we'll have a young and largely inexperienced HC trying to lead the most popular organization in all of sports with his balls clipped and one hand behind his back.

How is a guy like that supposed to succeed in those conditions? It'll be a mess and we'll be right back where we are right now.
That happens now with every coach hired since Parcells. :lol

I agree with your earlier statements that Belichick has the resume and personality to not be bullied by Jerry. But man, it sure seems like we'd be settling for a coach with dated schemes for the sake of building a true football culture.

I'd be willing to get on the Belichick train if he brought in some different assistants at key coaching positions. I can't do guys like Matt Patricia as the DC.

That's my hope too because I don't want him to bring in the same exact crew as before.

But yeah, that's the best word you could have used -- settled.

That's exactly what we as Cowboys fans have to do when it comes to our wishes.... We have to settle.

Yep, it would have been close enough to the same. This was just like Green Bay and we were healthy enough for that one.
Sheesh, how tough is the NFC North? Green Bay and Detroit utterly whipped us dropping 50 if they wanted to and Minnesota is 5-0. Even the fricking Bears are 4-2

This is one of the things I didn't expect (not Martin fading) but how atrocious the offensive line was yesterday. This was with sitting Guyton and playing Smith at tackle. Steele was god awful. There was no time at all to pass and the run blocking was worse. We can't field an even average offense at this point.
Martin is done. The end came quickly. He's around for final paychecks now. He'll retire end of year.

He's either beat up and media doesn't know, or he's unwilling to put in the work to stay an elite OL in his 30s like others do.

I have to admit once @Texas Ace dropped the 'Jerry Jones' component into the discussion, I should have tapped out. It was like being put in Brett Hart's sharpshooter. :lol

It's an unfortunate reality of the situation.

The Joneses find their motivation in new business ventures, yacht purchases, new construction, and family successes/outings. These are challenging things that they can control the outcomes of because they know how.

Football is on cruise control because even after all this time they really don’t understand it beyond the business of running a team.

Their attempts have been met with so many failures you almost can’t count them, and that would be demotivating to even the most optimistic fool. They don’t have the spirit to get up and try anymore, and haven’t for years.
