Idiots. He was saying “jump ball”.
It could be the Dez and Romo thing all over again from the Detroit game in 2013.

If there's something really wrong there, it's going to come to light.

For now, I'm going to chalk this up as another one of those incidents where the media doesn't really know what's going on and they're simply speculating based solely on what it looks like.

Good for him.

He's a good coach that deserves better than the treatment he's received from that bozo family.

He isn't without his flaws, but then again very few coaches aren't.

I've always believed he's done a good job here and it would have been nice to see what more he might have accomplished if this organization did things the right way.

Huge recovery by dak obviously. Still curious why Dowdle, who had a nice game and a great catch, cut that run back in instead of following the blocks to the outside. regardless of the pittsburg jackass flying through the air, there was no reason to ever make that cut. Bad vision.

I actually think the Dookie Stick had better vision.

That's an easy one to answer, bud.... He's a player with limited NFL talent that has a much bigger role than his ability should warrant due to the gross mismanagement of the position by the organization.

On most teams, he would be a fringe roster guy who would be both a special teamer and 3rd string RB at best.

That was a collosal mistake on his part but I also put that on the coaches for failing to recognize that that moment in the game required someone more reliable and experienced.

Coaches have to be able to discern when you have a talented young player that's beginning to show signs of improvement (Tolbert) and a fringe guy who is just having a good game.

Rico definitely falls into the latter category and yet they entrusted him when they shouldn't have because they allowed themselves to be fooled into thinking he was the "hot hand" when it was really more a case of him just having a decent night

I mean, shit....even Mazi had the sun shine on his ass last week. Does that mean that you make him you're #1 guy on the line? No.

Be smarter, guys.

Agreed on all points. I can't even blame Dowdle, he is what he is always going to be. He probably thought he'd just run right through the line and touchdown. Like a video game. Put in Zeke there. You don't need speed. hell let Luepke run it. Or 3 QB sneaks in a row. whatever.

Sometimes it just seems like we don't, as a team, think things through.

I will say, it was a clutch drive by Dak there. And actually saved the game by recovering the fumble by Dowdle.
I still feel like Dak is working his way into form.

With the lack of consistent receiving options he's had to create more and it's made him a tad hesitant.

I honestly thought he was going to miss diving on that football.

So during the game Collingsworth mentioned that they ditched the zone blocking scheme. It seemed to coincide with them running the ball more effectively. Was that just a fluke or did they keep at it?
With the capital we've invested up front they need to be able to be flexible and go with what's working.

That said, they did just that and it paid off big time in the red zone (minus the fluke fumble on Dowdle's dive)

I feel like the entire offense is still coming in to form. It was nice to see Dak finally spread the ball around. Tolbert, Brooks, Ferg, Ceedee, Span-Ford, Turpin, Luepke, Dowdle. He was spreading the ball all over for once instead of forcing it to Ceedee the whole game.

And despite the fumble, Dowdle actually had a respectable game. 20 carries and over 4 yards a carry. Nothing to get excited about but it is what we needed. There was some physicality running the ball.

I do feel like the offense is starting to get their feet. Despite the dumbass turnovers.

Yeah, that's not a hindsight thing either -- pretty much all of us at that time were wanting to see a QB sneak or run to Leupke/Zeke.

I don't think a single person here wanted Rico's number called there.

What grade would you give Dak Prescott for this game?

29/42, 69%, 352 yards, 2TD, 2INT, 90.6 QB Rating. 1 lost fumble
Nine players with a reception
Both TDs on extended plays
This game is sort of a microcosm of his career, he was just about the only reason our offense could move the ball for large parts of the game, and he is the main reason that we won in the end, but ultimately he did some bonehead shit that kept us from winning comfortably.

I'd give him a B, maybe B-, because he was excellent aside from about 3-4 plays against one of the better defenses in the league. The problem is those 3-4 plays probably should've cost us the game.

The more I see that Dowdle fumble, the angrier I get.

That literally could have sent the entire season into the shitter.

Can you imagine? People would be blaming Prescott for not recovering the ball. The injuries would have hurt even more after an exhausting game.

I will hold that fuckhead responsible for what almost was.
