I agree though our earliest realistic draft position is 9 and we’re likely going to pick 10 or 11… if we lose our remaining gamesWhy? His being gone will help us lose more games.

I think a lot more of McCarthy than you do, but I don't think he was ever coming back no matter how injured we were. The fans expect the laundry to win and it doesn't matter who is wearing them. And we weren't making the playoffs, so I don't think he'd be back under any realistic circumstance.I get it but would you rather risk McCarthy coming back next year?
I do worry a little that GMs try to copy Detroit and take him higher than they would have the last several years. I'm for the DT, but I wouldn't complain a bit about Jeanty and hope we at least have the option to take him.I bet he will be, I think the only way he's gone is if Ben Johnson goes somewhere in the top 10 and tries to recreate what he has in Detroit.
Given how Jerry has talked I honestly think there was a chance that McCarthy would be brought back if we finished 9-8 and missed the playoffs on a tiebreaker or something.I think a lot more of McCarthy than you do, but I don't think he was ever coming back no matter how injured we were. Hell, I hope someone hires Mike and he does a good job somewhere else where he isn't forced to play Zeke and J Mingo knowing they suck.
As for the coach, depends on who Jerry hires. If it's Belichick or Vrabel? Sure. But will I be more fired up for Kellen Moore than I would be for McCarthy? Not me.
Most of the teams in the top 10 are either set at RB (Jets, Titans, Saints, Panthers) or just picking too high with much bigger needs (Raiders, Giants, Jags, Patriots).I do worry a little that GMs try to copy Detroit and take him higher than they would have the last several years. See, I heard Jerry making all those comments and just from his tone and what he actually said, I don't think he was that positive towards MM. I think he was just saying the minimal positive things he could say without causing a "Jerry says MM is as good as gone!" firestorm.Given how Jerry has talked I honestly think there was a chance that McCarthy would be brought back if we finished 9-8 and missed the playoffs on a tiebreaker or something.
I think he's a fine coach but his time here should be up. He had 3 12 win teams and went 1-3 in the playoffs, including two losses at home, one of which was one of the worst in franchise history.
He should've been gone then and bringing him back would be a waste of time. I will agree that making Moore HC is one of the few scenarios I'd hate more than just bringing McCarthy back.
It would be worse for him if he came back than if he went somewhere else, even as an OC.I think Jeanty might run a hair under 4.5, not quite Bijan speed, so you might be right. But if he runs closer to 4.4, he’s definitely top tenI bet he will be, I think the only way he's gone is if Ben Johnson goes somewhere in the top 10 and tries to recreate what he has in Detroit.
Just on him, I read that he ran an 11.3 100m in high school. I think I was faster than that, seriously.I think Jeanty might run a hair under 4.5, not quite Bijan speed, so you might be right. But if he runs closer to 4.4, he’s definitely top ten
So I'm really curious to see how he tests.Except for 4 0 time. Direct correlation to NFL success for backs with good college productionAnd RB might be the position where the combine means the least anyway.
I just don't think there will be many teams in front of us in the market for a RB, especially with the depth of the class. All it takes is one but I think there are only 2-3 conceivable options at most, at least 80% or so of the teams in front of us won't even consider him.I think Jeanty might run a hair under 4.5, not quite Bijan speed, so you might be right. Cincy has gotta be in the market. They pick 1 before we do. Chicago tooI just don't think there will be many teams in front of us in the market for a RB, especially with the depth of the class. Yeah, but as bad as their defense is... They need help over there way more.Cincy has gotta be in the market. They pick 1 before we do
How is this much worse than watching Rush?I mean, watching Lance throwing picks and forcing balls to Jonathan Mingo? No thanks.
Chicago maybe if they hire Johnson but Cincinnati will almost certainly finish with a better record than us and Chase Brown has been really good for them.Cincy has gotta be in the market. They pick 1 before we do. Chicago too
I'd take him over Nolen, Harmon is a tossup for me.The real question is should we take a RB over a 3T?
Our season was over long ago.Oh, I don't think we were ever making the playoffs, and we'd get crushed if we somehow did. We were never beating the Eagles or probably the Skins, to name two. But I've gotten to where I like seeing undermanned teams beat ones with better talent, and this is one we had a chance at.
I personally would just rather win games like this and keep it going another week then shut it all down from here out, which is probably what will happen. This probably takes the wind totally out of our sails for every remaining game and they aren't even worth watching. I mean, watching Lance throwing picks and forcing balls to Jonathan Mingo? No thanks.
