Random Thoughts:

-This is the best LB group we've had in a very long time and Kendricks is the best traditional LB we've had since Sean Lee. Overshown's promise translated immediately and Liufau nearly had a sack, while Clark might've played more snaps than any of them. This is the type of connective tissue between the front and back end that was missing under Quinn.
-Carson gave up a few plays but had a few PD's too, once Bland is back we'll be back to being very deep at CB and I feel comfortable with Carson as a future starter (top 3 really, behind Diggs/Bland).
-I'll have to watch the all-22 on Guyton, they gave him plenty of help, but I'll take a relatively quiet Garrett all day against a rookie LT no matter how much help he was getting. I saw him shut down Za'Darius Smith a few times as well, and the one play Garrett did make should've been incomplete and not a FF.
-Kneeland was quietly very good, his power showed immediately as he consistently squeezed the pocket with his bull rush and he was consistently active and working to get himself free. It'd be nice to have Williams for depth but his injury is a bit of a blessing because I think Kneeland is already the better player but I'm sure Williams would've outsnapped him if healthy.
-It was very strange to see a Cowboy player coming off an ACL the year prior actually look like himself in Diggs.
-The Browns starting OT's were out but they also missed the vast majority of last season when they made the playoffs. Dawand Jones was basically a full-time starter last year and their interior OL is arguably the best in the league. Hudson sucks but this was not a completely patchwork OL, they had effectively 4 of their full-time starters from last season when they won 11 games.
-Dak and Lamb were really good in the first half, not perfect but way better than I expected given that Lamb was away all offseason, and they set the tone for how the game played out. The stats weren't glossy but they played huge roles in building the early lead which allowed us to mostly coast.
-Elliott actually looked somewhat decent, but RB is obviously going to hold us back all year. We'll still probably win 10-11 games or whatever but it's going to definitely bite us in the ass unless Cook finds the fountain of youth or Vaughn figures out how to stay on the field for more than 3 plays at a time.
-Guyton, Beebe and Kneeland are going to form the backbone of this roster on the lines for a long time.

It must be maddening for Browns fans to realize they are stuck with him.

This seemed like a good idea at the time.

So when does the Almighty Goodell get involved and handle this kind of stuff? This is like the 4th or 5th fight I’ve seen in the last couple seasons that were brutal.
