I've been pulled over doing 93 in a 55 and I didn't get anywhere close to being arrested.

Anything 25 mph over the speed limit can lead to an arrest for reckless driving. Well at least here in Texas. Could be the same where you were and you had an officer that didn't want to take it that far.

Most reports say he was doing 60. Either way the cops were wrong. They had his license so what was the big deal about the window?
I guess just that they repeatedly asked him to lower it to talk to him and he wouldn't.

Looks to me like he didn't deserve to be thrown on the ground and cuffed, but he was purposely being a dick to them.

Fair enough but that's not privilege and I'd guess it's probably actually uncommon to go to jail for that even if they "can" do it.

When I was in my early 20s, got pulled over doing 103 in a 55. Straight to jail. Charged with reckless endangerment, care required, and speeding.

My pasty whiteness did not help me.
How long did you have to stay in?

Only a few hours until I could get bailed out. Cost me 200 bucks for a bondsman.

Then another 1500 for a lawyer. Got it dropped down where I paid the speeding ticket (can’t remember exactly how much that was, but ND has low speeding fines. It was maybe around 100 bucks or so.) Got the reckless endangerment reduced.

All in all with bail, lawyer fees, court fees, fines, etc.. it cost me a little under 2500. Got to keep my license, tho.

Seriously, this was worse than getting an actual DUI back in those days.

I would guess that it was more common in the past. Possibly even at the time you got yours.

To me it's senseless and I used to have to deal with it almost daily. Try living near a base where you have fresh out of home "adults" getting a paycheck. The drive from one town to mine was only 5 miles but I guarantee I usually see one or two a week. NoDaks example could even be on that same road possibly.

Correct on both counts.

They went on a power trip and acted like buffoons, but why is he continuously rolling up the window when they've told him not to?

So yeah, the treatment and show of force was excessive, but he didn't get pulled over for nothing and he gave them reason to get upset with him after he was pulled over.

Just dumb shit from both sides.

I agree 100%. Everyone there could have deescalated that situation very easily.

Agreed.

I'd put the blame at about 60% on the cops and 40% on Tyreek mainly because the cops were in charge of the scene and were in a position to easily deescalate the situation.

It feels like in most cases where people get lippy with cops the cops end up writing you tickets for every little violation they can find instead of letting you off with a warning. This is an effective tactic against typical 9-5/paycheck to paycheck citizens. Makes me wonder if they instantly knew tickets wouldn't be much of a punishment for someone driving a Lamborghini so they ratcheted it up a notch to get there payback for "being disrespected". .

Dude is a creep but I don't think he should be punished again just because a possible new victim came forward.

If it were something that happened after the original incidents in 2022 or later, absolutely punish him. But this is just another accuser from the same timeframe that they were already aware of.
