I used to love that guy as a player but I think he's fallen off a lot, too.

That really is the problem with a bunch of these guys. At this age when someone will overpay them, they're not the player they were when you think of their name.

It takes real talent and work to identify the players who will actually be worth the money, because there aren't really that many.

Wouldja all in?
No, if I'm spending the money to go all in it is somewhere else. This WR draft class is packed, if I want a dynamic receiver to pair with Lamb it should just be a draft pick. Go fill your other holes in free agency. DT, LB, DE, RB. Make yourself free to draft one of those receivers instead. Or hell maybe Tolbert or Brooks can make a leap into next year. Brooks is kind of a weird one, I wasn't excited when we drafted him, he didn't really do that much as a rookie but there is something oddly promising about him. Tolbert I think is on his way to at least being a decent NFL receiver.

This draft class is thin at pass rusher, it's thin at RB. Fill those holes in free agency so you don't feel like you have to draft a guy. I'm really not in love with this DE class. I like Darius Robinson but the other DE's frankly kind of scare me. There isn't any that I love.

He will be the ST coach where ever Belichick ends up in 2025.

good. we can eat Dak's $60M.
We won't but I wouldn't be against it. I'd almost rather cut him loose in that situation though. Why keep him around for next season? Might as well see what you have in Lance and get ready for a top draft pick if he sucks. You know Dak at this point. So unless you think he is winning a Superbowl he is gone after this upcoming season without an extension anyway. So why delay the inevitable?

Actually I'd try to trade him first. I think it would be around 60 mil against the cap if we leave his contract, or if we cut/trade him. But then in 2025 we have cleared the books almost entirely. If we let him play it out, we still have his money on the cap in 2025. Like an ugly 36 mil.
