I'm not so sure about Cowboys fans hating Guyton. Criticism sure, but I'm guessing most people are willing to give him time. The potential is clearly there.
He is getting it from Twitter. You really have to ignore most of the comments on twitter from fans. I mean thats the home for people like Ernie.

2020 wasn’t that long ago

True, but that was coming off of an unsuccessful 2019 and with a brand new coaching staff.

You could squint and give them an excuse, especially during the shutdown and all. It was a weird year.

This though? This is coming off an offseason where they had a chance to build off of 3 straight playoff season, but refused.

Except he's almost certainly not coming back and it's too late to trade him.
And except that he'd likely be completely non-functional versus a real NFL defense.

While this is true, that's actually beneficial for a team that should be tanking hard right now.

And, it's very important that we can definitively see against real competition that he can't play, before we do something almost as stupid as it was to trade for him, which would be to resign him.

Not to mention we've invested a fairly valuable pick on him, to the detriment of using that resource to improve the team. Now that the season is lost and the starting QB went down long term, we're still not going to start him?

It's borderline insane to not start him right now.

Granted, since McCarthy is very unlikely to come back and he's probably acutely aware of that, there's little incentive for him to play Lance since it gives him less chance to win than Rush. But even the Joneses are talking like they have no intention of starting Lance, which is mind boggling.

I just saw on the ticket during this Alabama/LSU game that he's having season ending surgery.

What a fucking waste of a contract.

Why didn't we just let him play out the season?!

I guess I think he'd be much worse than you do. Like Babe Laufenberg bad. Like can't even get first downs bad.

I have no doubt he'll play some, because Jerry wants it. But I think it's going to be worse than bad. More like disastrous.

I fully expect that or something similar. I don't think Babe bad because of his ability to run, but yeah that'd be ok too. 3-14 is on the table. I'm fine with that at this point.

At the outside best, he shows enough to get a backup deal with someone next season and we get a better comp pick. And if he completely blows, that's fine, I'd rather lose out than end up in the middle of the first round.

I think the more important question is….has there ever been a QB tear a hamstring off the hip throwing a fucking 20 yard pass, ever??

I know freak accidents happen but I believe his mechanics are so bad it led to this weird injury.
