I mean, he does look 10x quicker than Zeke in those clips. But it's hard not to be skeptical. Maybe Jane is right about the family stuff being part of last year, though. It's just that we always hear those kinds of stories.
The shoulder surgery probably played a large role as well, not to mention the Jets offense being a dumpster fire.

He has more of a recent track record of production than Elliott does so I'm keeping an open mind.

It's always something with a RB pushing 30. My guess is he has just lost a step.

That theory falls apart when you see Breece Hall performed enormously better in the exact same offense.
Breece Hall is a top 5 RB in the league at the moment, I'm comparing two guys who are going to be out of the league in the next 18 months or so.

Right. So, Hall is a very good RB who was able to overcome and perform well despite a bad Jets offense, and Cook was not a good RB and was not able to perform in the midst of a bad Jets offense.

Which is my point.

The Jets bad offense doesn't absolve Cook from being a bad RB. And he was mostly very bad last season. At his age, it's not likely to get better.

For the record I'm in favor of bringing him in since we are so desperate and he's so far not even costing a roster spot. Can't hurt. But I don't expect anything from him.

A RB with kids? Has this ever been tried before?

I think they are on to something. He's obviously going to leave a legacy.
I'm pretty sure this is a first.

I'm not saying he's going to be leaps and bounds better but I think he'll be way closer to 4.4 YPC than 3.2, and in the context of comparing him to Elliott I think the injury and Jets surrounding cast has to be mentioned.

Of course the Patriots didn't have much either, but Elliott's production wasn't much better, it was just higher based on volume and as far as I know he wasn't injured.

I'm not saying he's going to be a really good starter, but I think he's probably going to be better than Elliott.

An anonymous agent came out today and said that the game has passed Jerry by.

No shit.
Cowboys' Jerry Jones Ripped by NFL Agent; 'I Think the Game Has Passed Him By'

This is the key quote and it's exactly what most of us have been saying for a while: "I don't think they want to win above all," the agent said when ranking the Cowboys as the most unstable franchise in the league. "Jerry (Jones) wants to turn profits and make headlines."

It's the main reason I don't really care as much anymore, I just don't believe they're desperate to win. Of course they want to win but it's not their top priority.

Both Jerry and Stephen want to maximize revenue of course, although most of that is baked in, while Jerry wants to showboat in the media and run his mouth, and Stephen wants to tinker with his little bullshit cap games.

Winning comes after those priorities.
