I watched all of his all-22 plays against the run from both KC games, the Philly game, our game and the Pittsburgh playoff game and overall he looked good. Got washed out a few times against Creed Humphrey and some DBL's/Combos in the KC playoff game, but KC also has arguably the best interior OL in the league.

You can tell there's not really much to his game anymore besides just being a huge fat ass who eats up space and bangs in the A gaps, but luckily that's exactly what we need.

As long as it is not a step down from Hankins, I am good. There was no fucking way this DL had a chance prior to a couple weeks ago.

Thing here is that Zimmer got something with the three FAs and they know how to use two of them pretty well.

Between Phillips and Joseph I think we're better off than with just Hankins alone.

Edge: Parsons/Lawrence/Kneeland/Lawson
DT: Osa/Phillips/Joseph/Mazi
Utility: Golston

That's a very solid 9 man group, and I'm definitely taking it over what we had last year, with Hankins/Fowler/Armstrong/Gallimore instead of Kneeland/Lawson/Phillips/Joseph.

what happened to John Stephens Jr?
He has been doing okay in practices, not getting a ton of play in the two games so far. He is kind of lucky Hendershot is not trying real hard to keep his job.

Yeah it's hard to judge some from preseason games. I mean a guy like Tolbert barely has seen the field in preseason and he is our number 3 receiver. At the beginning of camp we expected that to be a hotly contested thing. But we have barely seen Tolbert, Brooks or Turpin in preseason. Our coaches have been ultra protective of some players. I don't think the coaches are really treating the preseason as part of the competition for the depth chart.

John Stephens Jr. might not be getting a ton of time for a couple of reasons. It could be because they already view him as a roster lock for one of the top 3 TE spots. It could be because they are trying to keep him under the radar to sneak on the practice squad. But I think you're absolutely right in that they aren't displaying him much in the preseason for some reason or another.

Stephens isn’t getting a lot of attention on socials either.

I hope this isnt Gerald McCoy and Dontari Poe part deux.
First thought as well, but at least they finally got some girth on the line.

Yeah but meanwhile Bryan Broaddus is on the radio saying he thinks the guy has been our second best TE in camp. So who knows what's going on.

Like he’s been stroking Hoffman over Beebe.

Yeah, I mean in the end we have Ferguson and then some ok TE's. Which is fine. I'm not excited about them but who cares, the second TE's in our offense won't be seeing many balls. I feel like in the NFL you're either a really good/great TE or your just a JAG and there are a lot of JAGs and not that many good/great TEs.
