I get why these guys think we're all stupid. We still watch, buy merch, and attend games.
McClay has it made. Makes a pile of money, gets a lot of credit when things go right, and not much of the blame when it goes wrong.

He has about as much accountability as the owner or his retarded son.And that's why he'll never leave.
True but he's at least solid at his job, he gets too much praise because things were so bad in the late 90's/2000's, but he's at least generally decent and competent. He has about as much accountability as the owner or his retarded son.
We're only about one more cheapo offseason from concluding we're owned by James Dolan and they simply aren't going to pay no matter how rich they are.
All reports I remember after the draft was that Guyton was a stand up, smart kid that worked hard. With the vast majority of people being happy with the pick. Do people just claim character issues now because he had an up and down, rough rookie season?I don't like this trend over the last few two years where the scouts are seemingly missing on the football character/seriousness of high picks like Mazi and Guyton though.
He did get benched at OU for a while, though the OL coach said nothing but great things about him.All reports I remember after the draft was that Guyton was a stand up, smart kid that worked hard. Maybe I missed something. Do you remember these character issues that our scouting department missed? Or ignored? The only thing I remember was that he might be a bit of a work in progress because he'd be switching sides.
He was asked to do too much. All reports I remember after the draft was that Guyton was a stand up, smart kid that worked hard. With the vast majority of people being happy with the pick. Do people just claim character issues now because he had an up and down, rough rookie season?

That's what I'm wondering. If things like this are out there, where are the character concerns that our scouts missed coming from?He did get benched at OU for a while, though the OL coach said nothing but great things about him.
Something is up, though, with the same thing happening here. Doesn't mean he's a bad guy, but something isn't right.
And again, I mentioned that. Reports were that he'd be a work in progress. That chances were pretty good, that he wasn't a plug and play starter. That is not the scouts fault. We were hearing this before the first mini camp. That is our coaches/GM fault for putting him in that position. He was asked to do too much.
I had low expectations and he totally fulfilled them.
Hence the over the skis comment. And again, I mentioned that. Reports were that he'd be a work in progress. That chances were pretty good, that he wasn't a plug and play starter. I don't know what's going on with him. He seemed so great in camp - attitude, work ethic, everything. But he's healthy enough to play and is still behind Edoga. Makes no sense. That's what I'm wondering. If things like this are out there, where are the character concerns that our scouts missed coming from?
He made mental errors and they were gosh darn it trying to win football games here.I don't know what's going on with him. He seemed so great in camp - attitude, work ethic, everything. But he's healthy enough to play and is still behind Edoga. Makes no sense.
Their job is to uncover things that aren't national news or readily obvious to the media covering the draft. By all indications Guyton seemed fine, but there is obviously an issue when McCarthy is throwing subtle jabs at his "availability", and those are things that the scouts should be able to tease out.All reports I remember after the draft was that Guyton was a stand up, smart kid that worked hard.
