He has bounced around, Miami to Buffalo to Arizona and back to Buffalo. He has always been pretty sound.

Solid move, he was basically a starter for Buffalo last year as their 1T/NT when he was healthy. He's kind of mercurial, when he's motivated he can be dominant but he washed out of Arizona presumably because he was lazy.

We'll see what Zimmer can get out of him but he's as good as we could realistically hope for at this stage.

Good trade, I actually really like him. I think he will be motivated playing for a good team. I think he is a guy that needs to be on a defense like ours to perform. He isn't going to lift up a shit team.

Damn, that's awesome, especially for that cheap. He was an underachiever type at OU but really good at Buffalo. He'll need managing but he is very talented.

Yea, this organization shows no urgency to do anything, they'd rather sit out FA and "see what they have" early on in camp before doing something. Of course everybody here knew damn good and well that rolling with Mazi, Carl Davis and a rookie as your only options at NT was ludicrous, but at least they did something.

To me Phillips is a better pass rushing version of Hankins, so this basically puts us slightly ahead of where we were last year along with a presumably somewhat improved Mazi. It's still way less than ideal but it's at least not a disaster waiting to happen.

Correct. If the other option was a guy like Linval Joseph, we did much better as long as he is on the field.

We do not even need to find a solid one, just one better than Dowdle, which should not be all that hard in the few weeks they have left.
