I’ve always believed college players deserved something. But this shit has become beyond ridiculous. This coupled with the portal is awful.
Agreed.

I thought they should get something around 25-35K per season plus be allowed to shop their likeness so they can make money off their jersey sales and sign autographs, etc.

That's more than fair for a kid going to college on a full scholarship.

But this? This is ridiculous.

Something needs to change and ASAP.

It doesn't need to be ASAP. After Manning then you can change it.

College football at one time was special. A team worked for years to build a program. A place where there was a history. A legacy. Which in turn helped with recruiting new talent.

Now? That's all gone. It's just who has the most money. The fastest, easiest track to the NFL. Teams promising players boatloads of money to poach them for a year or two. And promising to poach other players they want to play with. Buying championships is bullshit.

I hated when they lowered the age/years in school requirement before they could declare for the draft. But this is even worse.

I wish they'd reinstate when players would have to sit out a year if they transferred. You wouldn't see all this team hopping bullshit. Or make it that if a player accepts a full ride scholarship to a school, they have to honor it until they declare for the draft, graduate, or flunk out of school. Whichever comes first.

Another thing, I'm not a hardcore college fan, but those I see who are try to be careful being too critical of their players playing at their school because, well, they're just college kids.

Screw that anymore. These are professional players with no loyalty in a professional league where apparently even spare WRs make millions and get personal drivers carrying them around in Cadillac SUVs. I say if they suck, boo the hell out of them.

I always had a problem with making a kid sit out a year, but that was before NIL.

I also thought it was a BS that a kid couldn't back out once he committed to a school only to watch the HC that recruited him go to a different school before the season even began.

This was just one of many things that were really unfair to student athletes that went on for so long. As I've said many times before, I think so much of that happening over the years is what led to things going to such an extreme in the other direction.

There's definitely a balance here but it's going to require hard work to find it.

I think these guys should be allowed to transfer, but with certain conditions. Like you said, if a kid accepts a full scholarship, then he should only be allowed to transfer after no less than 2 years and if he's not starting for that current team.

If he still wants to transfer, he's got to pay something back in some way. There has to be tax here for doing so.

Also, you should only be allowed to transfer once. None of this bouncing around year to year nonsense.

Those would be the first changes I would make.

I really think that SMU doesn't know where they are.

That's supposed to be Penn St. I assume?

It looks nothing like that of course.
They did one like this for the ACC championship game as well. It's almost like they think they are playing In the Swiss alps.

Your worst fucking nightmare.
It's the only football team I have that operates normally.

It would be a cruel injustice to have that asshole become associated with the Longhorns in any way, shape, or form.
