I don't like seeing 31... That's a lot of carries and hits for a back. It's also funny that 7 YPC is a down game for him. Most RBs would kill for that type of average.Well it wasn't last night. 31/217/1

I mean as long as a guy is rock solid I don't think height matters much. Shorter backs have a lower center of gravity and are a lot of times harder to hit. When you're a 6'5" DE it's hard to get low enough to tackle that dude below his shoulder pads.It could be my Emmitt-bias but I'd rather have a guy who is 5-9, 210 than 5-11, 215 (like Bijan).
I like Penn State and they've got a lot of talent everywhere except for at WR, and that's why I feel like they labor to win and and don't look more impressive as a whole than they do.
Allar has a lot of good physical tools but none of those receivers scare you and I think that's why he doesn't flash more individually.
Having said that, they've got quite a few players that I'm a fan of and would be happy to see any of them in a Cowboys uniform.
Abdul Carter, Tyler Warren (what a stud), Jaylen Reed, and both RBs.... especially Kaytron Allen.
Singleton is the shifter guy with more big play potential, but I think Allen is gonna be a steal for someone in the draft and I would love to see the Cowboys look at him in the later rounds.
He actually reminds me a little of Marion Barber with his overall skill set and I think it's a skill set that doesn't flash, but it translates very well to the pro game. He's a very physical runner but he's also good in pass protection and really solid as a receiver out of the backfield.
I think if you can pair him with a Tony Pollard type in the NFL, he's going to bring great value to you as a 4th or 5th rounder.

The other advantage of either Singleton or Allen is they have split carries since they've been there. Not a lot of wear and tear on either of them.
That's some straight up bullshit.
I agree it definitely needs to be overhauled.Ok, I have the vent about something...
I can't stress enough how much I hate college OT.
I've never been a fan of it and never will be.
Why do teams get the ball at the 25? So they have a better chance of scoring and ending the game? Because you don't want ties?
Assuming that's the case, what's the point of all that if you let them play until someone finally wins?
If the game can't end in OT until both teams have touched the ball and one of them finally get's a defensive stop, then why not just let them play out the period playing normally?
I HATE anything that changes the standard playing format or playing conditions of a sport and I really wish they'd change this.
It's funny to me how up in arms so many people are over baseball's new extra innings format where you automatically get a runner on 2nd, but some of those same fans are ok with college football's OT format.
Both are ridiculous. It's funny to me how up in arms so many people are over baseball's new extra innings format where you automatically get a runner on 2nd, but some of those same fans are ok with college football's OT format.
In all seriousness though. When they are blowing a team out, can't they give the kid some rest? 31 carries is a lot.31 carries?
I wish these assholes would stop overusing our 2025 starting RB.
He only had 13 carries and played one half last week and just 11 carries two games before. I think he will be ok.In all seriousness though. When they are blowing a team out, can't they give the kid some rest? 31 carries is a lot.
20 carries for 140 yards would have been sufficient.
They're doing what Texas did in Ricky Williams' final season where they were intent to get him the Heisman. In all seriousness though. When they are blowing a team out, can't they give the kid some rest? 31 carries is a lot.
20 carries for 140 yards would have been sufficient.
Add DJ Giddens to the list of RB's to consider in rounds 2-3.
I'm not saying carrying the ball 31 times against Hawaii is going to destroy him. But it's just unnecessary. Especially for a Boise State team that probably want to go far this season. They only have one loss and it was a close game to Oregon. He only had 13 carries and played one half last week and just 11 carries two games before. I think he will be ok.
Looks like he inherited his pop's tackling ability.
Enjoy it while you can because that's a really good team and unless they fall apart, they'll be in the 12 team playoffs. It’s still always great waking up on a Sunday to crying Buckeye fans.
Really? I'm not. That's what made college football great. Every week really did matter, at least for most teams. Now these early losses barely matter.I'm so glad teams are no longer having their seasons ruined by one singular loss.
They’ll definitely make the playoff, but what this does is continue to expose Ryan Day as the fraud he is. He’s not a good coach. He just has the luxury of an all-star roster, but he proves time and time again that he’s going to make the wrong coaching decision in critical moments. Hell, he nearly shit the bed last year against a hapless Notre Dame squad.Enjoy it while you can because that's a really good team and unless they fall apart, they'll be in the 12 team playoffs.
Speaking of which, it really is mind-boggling that college football just barely implemented a playoff system like this.
I can sit here and present a number of reasons why this conscious choice by the NCAA was so strange and idiotic, but the first one that comes to mind was basically holding teams to the absurd standard of having to go undefeated in order to have a shot.
