I think because the Cowboys have so many fans there going back to the Landry days. They and the Jimmy teams were so much better than the Oilers and early Texans, and fans of the local team hated that.

But yeah, it's kind of weird. I don't think of, say, Philly fans hating the Steelers the same way.

Philly fans kind of hate Steelers fans, but not like that. More along the lines of them not understanding how anyone in the Philly area could possibly root for anyone other than the Eagles (they are not self aware).

It's also not at all true that Houston hates the Cowboys as much or more than eagles fans. I can assure you of that.
