I did a post last week where I wrote that if the Cowboys couldn't win this game they were doomed to be an also-ran again this season. I got burned at the digital stake for that statement.

Well not only did they not win, they got crushed. So to all those ignorant fucks who piled on, who thinks they're anything but an also-ran now?

And anyway, life just gets easier and less complicated when you accept also-ran status and move on. The Cowboys were an also-ran last year and they will be again next year. They have been for 27 years. It's like the natural cycles of the cosmos. The sun rises and sets every day, the seasons come and go. You can't root for or against summer or winter or spring, they just happen every year. You accept it.

Once you accept the natural order of the Cowboys' also-ran status, the natural order of things that never change, you can embrace other things in life: Family, friends, hobbies, fishing, golf, whatever.
Yep. I’ve been laughing about all the guys here that chewed on everyone who questioned what this team was.
The Niners went out, filled in a few weak spots and got much better than they were last year.
The Cowboys, well Jerry and his Merry band of Faggots did what they always do, which is brag about how great they are and talk about 365 days a year talent acquisition when in fact they will never know how to build a Championship caliber squad. All flash, no substance, no heart. The great pretenders.

42-10 tells you all you need to know.

Here is the sad reality: we are as good a defense as Philly and SF, but our offense is woefully behind theirs. Each of them have elite running games led by better backs than we have, and each of them have TWO high end CD Lamb caliber WRs instead of one, and each of them have an elite TE. Finally, they each have non elite but competent QBs capable of racking up yards and points. Ours can no longer push the ball downfield (not that he ever was really able to do this consistently).

You’re kidding, right??

That D is nowhere in the same stratosphere as the Niner or Eagle D.
No pressure on Purdy last night. Guys running free all thru the secondary. Run game wasn’t spectacular but the Niners got the yards on the ground when they needed it.

Shanahan has Quinn’s number and it ain’t even close.

Yes. Not as sure about Philly, and I'm not in any way excusing as bad an asskicking as what we saw last night, but the Niners are just better than us in basically every way. Much more physical and more well-rounded defense, plus better personnel on offense at basically every position. And of course Shanahan is one of the best coaches in the league.

We may have blown too many picks lately with our 2nd and 3rd round picks of '21 not able to play a lick, 2nd and 3rd rounders last year contributing very little, our 1st rounder this year not adding a thing and 2nd rounder looks average. That's a bunch of premium picks to get very little to nothing from.

Another thing that’s painfully clear. Gallup is done. That experiment needs to end sooner than later. Another Jones gamble and “football decision” that didn’t pan out.

What’s even worse is the Niners said the game plan was easy…“we will take away the run game, we want the ball in Daks hands”. And that’s basically what they did. And like always, Dak shit the bed.

Yeah I agree about Philly. They shouldn't be lumped into SF's category. SF looks better than pretty much every team in the league right now. Philly looks like they're sleepwalking through their schedule by comparison.

I've had that opinion for a while now, but I'm starting to wonder if it's the QB. Cooks doesn't look so great either. What's the common denominator? It's either the QB or the scheme or both.

I don't think Gallup is great but him and Cooks are more useful than they've shown.

I go back to the Cardinals game and you said “all is lost”. Even though it was only the third game, that was such a pathetic performance I had a suspicion that you were correct. They were exposed as an average team at best. Same as it ever was since Jimmy left unfortunately. It is a long season yadda yadda but the fundamental flaws of this team won’t be corrected anytime soon.

Like I’ve said, RB1 has lost half a step since that injury. He’s just doesn’t have that explosion anymore.

Just heard that Rodney Harrison reported before the game that a Niner DL flatly told him that on the field. Wow.

Of course I can't watch that pregame thanks to Garrett. Thanks, NBC. Jackasses.

It is a small ball offense that only works if the run game works. There is no explosion and dammit if we weren’t wrong on Kellen Moore.
