I see your point, I really do but you know damn well if he lost that challenge and needed a TO later, he would be roasted. He already catches shit for his time management.

In the first half? He won't need a time out later.

The opponent rushing to the line is a major red flag. I'd much rather take a chance that it's nothing than take a chance by doing nothing about a play that could have turned the game around.

It’s all great and good that Martin tried to protect his QB but it cost us 15 yds. That being said, I really wish the refs knew a flop when they see one. Dudes out here doing LeBron impersonations and getting flags for it really pisses me off.

I agree. Martin needs to stop being a knucklehead.

The point about being doom and gloom is that it doesn't matter one iota of they bounce back at Miami.

It's hard to watch this team against Buffalo and earlier against SF, coupled with their recent history, and imagine they are capable of winning anything significant in the playoffs.
People were saying the same thing about Eli and the Giants before they went on a run and beat Brady’s undefeated Pats in the SB.

It’s about going on a run and getting hot at the right time

Massive defensive failure. That's on Quinn.
We know that's how this goes under Quinn though, there are usually 2-4 games a year where the defense looks like they've never played against an NFL rushing offense before and every time the opponent runs it seems to pop for at least 5.

It happened last year against Tampa, Jacksonville, Green Bay, Houston and maybe Chicago, and so far this year against Arizona, San Francisco (although I'm hesitant to include this one) and yesterday.

The defense and Quinn just aren't oriented around stopping the run and you get shit like this a few times a year, often when they're unfocused or having a let down game for whatever reason. It's ridiculous but we've seen it play out pretty much ever since he's been here, we also know they'll bounce back and probably play well once the playoffs roll around.

Don't think the Giants had the reputation that the Cowboys have. Hard to shake this reputation when it keeps happening. Also winning against a team that is getting the same reputation won't move the needle much either.

Tis what it tis at this point in time … shit calls from the refs … shit run defense … abysmal offense …shitty special teams … sucked all the way around ..IT’S OVER… …. Get on the plane .. go to Miami and rebound … right the proverbial “ road ship “ or be considered what every one calls you .. choke artists . Plain and simple .

True and. I’ll prefer they stumble now than later when it really matters.

They took the undefeated patriots down to the wire in the regular season.

So yeah.

In a relatively meaningless week 17 game, after getting boatraced by us twice and losing a few other games in even more embarrasing fashion.

I think the overarching point is that we know we're one of the best teams in the league and if we get hot and have a bit of luck we could easily go all the way. The unfortunate thing is having to play on the road obviously hurts our chances, but as you said, winning 12-14 games in a row was never a realistic thing. Just gotta hope the Eagles somehow slip up against the Giants or that one of these wild card teams can pop up and upset someone like the Eagles or Lions in the first round so we can avoid going to SF.

It's obviously just as likely, probably more so, that we get bounced in the divisional round again, but that doesn't change the fact that this is one of the better teams in the league and we're kind of just getting screwed the last two years by what the Eagles have done which has forced us into being a wild card with an outlier record.

That doesn't mean tear it all down because "30 years, can't win on the road", blah, blah, blah, you just gotta keep putting yourself in that position where you're winning 12-13 games and hope that the seeding/circumstances fall your way.

On the fumble non-review, I didn't think it was a fumble, either. Never occurred that it was even close enough to review until they showed the replay.

It wasn't meaningless at all to the Patriots.
It meant nothing to the Giants and they basically decided to go out and play for the hell of it because of the circumstances, that one performance doesn't outweigh the fact that we killed them twice and they lost several other embarrassing games.

If the Eagles had beaten us twice this year, convincingly, and the rest of the season went like it did (Arizona loss, yesterday's blowout), would you feel really swell if we played the 49ers close at home in the season finale (but lost) in a game that made no difference to us?

I seriously doubt it.

Amen. This is the way.

The worst part of yesterday was how the team couldn't stop a nosebleed and almost looked like they quit. That's obviously unacceptable. But if it was a one-off and they can beat a very good Miami team, it'll be okay. Good news is they usually play well after being told they suck all week. I'm actually kind of surprised they haven't laid an egg lately after everyone blowing smoke up their asses the last several weeks in a row.
