What he's done with Dak this year is amazing. Said it before, but I really thought seven years of Garrett was too much for any QB to overcome. But McCarthy seems to have done it. Dak has never played this well for this long.
Everything about the football side of the organization has been an improvement across the board since he came in.
We always complained about how we weren't a well coached team and now we have what I believe is the most well coached Cowboys team since the 90s.
All three aspects of the team are very well coached.
On top of all the improvements that he's helped to make on the field, he's also had a huge impact on how we both evaluate and acquire talent.
Before him, we never would have traded for a Cooks or Gilmore.
And while they didn't pan out, he went after two nose tackles his first season in charge when before him we never went after that position.
Mazi hasn't been great but at least it was a legit attempt to draft a difference-maker at a position that we've been ignoring for far too long.
And does anyone think we cut Jaylon Smith not even half way into the season under Garrett or Wade Phillips before him?
At some point I do think he has to make progress in the playoffs, but I'm keeping that guy for next season no matter what happens with the rest of the season.
And even going into next season and beyond, it would take something that I would consider a catastrophic failure for me to even consider replacing him.
He's just done way too much good to have such a short sighted view on his tenure.
