Yeah I mean I want to light the scoreboard up too but to me it's more important to be able to get a lead and shut the other team down. We have a great defense, you don't have to treat it like a track meet.

What I will say is that I also don't want to take the aggressiveness from the offense. We already got too conservative at times last year. You can't run the ball with Zeke on first down over and over hoping that 2nd and 9 is a good situation. If you're hoping to March down the field converting third downs the whole time your bound to make a mistake and the drive will stall. You need chunk plays.

Well I'm assuming that Zeke won't be here to get that 1 yard. I could possibly be giving this front office too much trust to do the correct thing bit I think he is gone.

It is nice in theory, but a lot of our drives stalled last year when we ran on first down (especially when Elliott got the carry). I would expect that McCarthy wants to get the ball out of Prescott's hands quickly. I am actually good with how much we ran, but the when and how needed to be sharper.

We have been running basically the same formless collection of plays for a while now. If all he is talking about is making things more efficient, great. I anticipate a shorter passing game with fewer plays that take a lot of time to develop.

Yea, there were several stretches where we mindlessly bashed our heads against the wall running on first down for only 1-2 YPC at best, at times to the point where it'd be like 6-7 times in a row.

I'd imagine that was mostly Moore, as a holdover type mindset from Garrett, but we'll see.

The volume of runs was fine, it's the situational feel of when and how to mix it up to catch defenses off guard.
