Smart move by the Ravens
Well, they don’t sit there and talk about how their QB is a fixture all of the time. He is an asset.

They also were getting tired of negotiations that were going nowhere. If I am using the franchise tag, I would use the non-exclusive the majority of the time. Then they let some other team see if they can set his price and do the work for them. Clearly they aren’t overvaluing him as a player.

Yes and if no one offers him a contract you can point to the franchise tag amount of 32 million being far cheaper than the average annual amount he is probably requesting in a contract.

Pollard is not exclusive, although he might as well be.

I admit, I thought the Falcons would bite, considering the rumors. But all of these make sense.

But yet it spawns this Twitter-rage:

My thing is this.

Has it occurred to them that maybe, just maybe, it is okay for teams to have personal evaluations of a star player on whether or not they fit for their team or not?

So every team should just be either willing to re-do their entire cap, part with two first round choices and also figure out how to design an offense around him?

Let's be pretty transparent here, he is not for every team. Simple. However, that won't stop the insinuation that there is some sort of league-wide collusion to suppress the player.

It gets very very tiring to see people who should be able to analytically comprehend this sport would think like this.

He is a phenomenal player in what he does. However, there is the distinct (and I believe entirely fair) assumption from some clubs that he can't function at a high enough level as a passer. He's a runner and when the legs go, so does he.

I do find it funny that Griffin himself was one of the first to lose his mind.

Good lord. I said it before, but no one is giving up two firsts for this dude. The Ravens were a running team. Period. He only threw when he had to. And that's the only reason he is even still a starting QB in this league.

Someone come fight me over it.
