I agree, but Iowa would need to bring in a real offensive coordinator to lure anyone like that. He isn't going to want to play in the dumpster fire that is Iowa's offense as it is constructed right now. Meanwhile you know Ferentz isn't going to go outside the box at all with the offensive coordinator position. It's probably going to be some current or former assistant who gets the job. I appreciate that Ferentz always puts together good seasons but at some point you have to take your shot at being better than that. And while I get that we won't pull Ohio State or Michigan level talent but we put a lot of great players in the NFL. It's a school that can produce some talent.
You've been a TE factory for many years now.

Luke Lachey and Erick All were both excellent this year as well before they both went down with injuries. Lachey would have been probably a day 2 pick at TE. Of course good WR's transfer away from us a second they get a chance because we don't know the first thing about using a good WR.

They did but you have to feel a little bad for FSU. You won all your games and got knocked out because your QB got hurt and still won despite it.
I feel like the committee actually got it right. They went by their rules for once, which of course now everyone is complaining about. If in fact you want the best 4 teams, then FSU as they currently sit, were not one one of the best without JT. It definitely sucks, but I’d venture to say, take JT off FSU game one and they probably don’t finish undefeated. That’s backed up by how poor their offense played without him.
Hopefully they expand the playoff invite and it will put an end to all this shit.

I mean it will never be a problem in the future. 12 teams will always eat up every undefeated team. So FSU would make the playoffs and probably get bounced early. No one can be upset then.

Part of me hopes they beat Georgia though. Maybe FSU will make their own national championship trophy at that point and award it to themselves... Sort of a let the world burn scenario. Plus makes the SEC look bad.

You're welcome for Erick All. He transferred to Iowa from Michigan. I was bummed when he transferred.

Thought I saw where Texas backup might consider Ohio State.
My brother did say he was most likely transferring out.

I expect Georgia to curb stomp FSU and beat them by at least 4 TDs.
It won’t even be a game most likely. The FSU D is bad ass, but the offense looked like trash without the QB. I don’t think they can stay on the field enough so that their D has some rest. Georgia will probably prevail in the 3rd/4th quarter because of that.

I haven’t even kept up with all of it…are they definitely going with 12 teams next year?

This is ruining college football. From what I have read there are over 1000 players in the portal right now.

It is. It sucks You recruit a guy and who cares, he can be gone the next year. And it's almost always just the highest bidder.

The NCAA needs to grow some balls and start regulating this.

Yeah, NIL is the other thing I hate. That's why the "Underclassmen declaring thread" will be slow this year.

No more trying to earn a starting spot. You don't start, you transfer and expect the next coach to start you. It's kind of sad really. Puts coaches in an awkward position that if they don't put a guy in the lineup right away that they may just leave the team.

Baker Mayfield did this before the portal and NIL was even cool.

It's basically minor league NFL with everyone on 1-year contracts, a shittier version of the sport with more year to year roster churn. All of the intangible stuff that made college football great is more or less gone.
