He was injured for a spell in two seasons. And you might want to double check his time with the Cowboys.
Why do you quibble about his time with the Cowboys vs his FULL 7 year career ? Elliot - 7 years, Murray 7 years. Apples to apples , no horse shit comparisons. Or extrapolation as you say.

Can’t compare Zeke to Murray unless situations and variables exact, but no problem comparing Romo-to-Aikman. L00K AT ALL THE TDzzzz!!1!11!

I was warned, so I’m not surprised at this diversion.
It’s not a diversion. I am of the opinion the Murray was a better and more productive Running back than Elliot.

You like to move the goalposts don’t you?
No. I have voiced my opinion and said why. I haven’t moved from that position and the more I see of Elliot and his lack of Production these days the more I feel that way. The primary information I suggested was that Murray holds the record for the most yards in a single for the Cowboys and suggested watching the videos to compare. I haven’t moved from that. The other things were raised by you.

In 3 more years Dak could have the most passing yards in team history. I guess Dak would then be considered the best QB in the franchise.

Murray was a great back. Wasn't a Cowboy for long.

Some interesting numbers though...

1,845 yards single season Cowboys record
253 yards single game Cowboys record. Murray owns three of the top ten single game rushing performances. Zeke has none in the top 20
#1 85.4 YPG tied with the great Emmitt Smith
#7 in all time Cowboys rush yardage from 4 seasons, Zeke is #3 from 7 seasons
4.8 YPC leads the top 10 all time Cowboy rushers
Long rush of 91 yards second only to Tony D's great 99 yards and a half.

He fumbled 12 times in 53 games, relative to Zeke's 22 in 103 games, so about the same ratio.

Murray was outstanding in 2014 putting together one of the finest seasons in franchise history.

If he didn't have the fumbles that year, we probably play in the NFCC at Seattle as no fumble was bigger than the one he had vs the Packers with nothing but open space in front of him.

Still, I remember him fondly and loved how hard he ran and how much of a dawg he was.

I still consider that to be the finest season to come from a RB not named Emmitt Smith or Tony D.

So, riddle me this. Seeing as Murray was a great runner at his peak, why did numb-nuts Stephen cut ties with Murray after a franchise record setting season, and yet with Zeke he empties the vault?

Surely you know why. They thoudgt Murray was past his prime and wanted a younger running back. That was knocked around for weeks on this board. Why pose these kind of question? Still Murray in his prime was a better running than Elliot.

It's the same argument you make as to why Murray is better than Elliot.

Therefore applies to the conversation.
Obviously it isn’t. You suggest using someone who has no comparisons to either is the same thing? Compare the running styles of the two running backs is what I suggest is a good example of why Murray was a better runner.

Now it's running styles? It was never that. It was always Murray was better because he had the most rushing yards in a season.

Anyways I'm going to tag out to anybody that wants to continue. I will hang up and listen.

Easier to rack up yardage with the great Romo keeping second line of defense back, whereas Zeke ran against loaded boxes with that POS Dink-and-Dak
