I don’t get the obsession with OBJ. We had a pretty damn good number 1 here that knew the offense, why do we want another #2 that doesn’t know the offense and isn’t even healthy?

I don’t get it.

Andre Rison made a big difference for the Packers in 1996, joining them in Week 11 and having a big post-season. Granted, no torn ACL to worry about, but Jerry probably envisions a similar impact.

Good comparison. I wanted Rison in Dallas. I was a big fan of his.

For the record, Beckham's numbers in the playoffs last year for the Rams.

4 (targets)/4 (rec)/54 (yds)/1 (TDs)
8/6/69/0
11/9/113/0
3/2/52/1 (Super Bowl prior to getting hurt)

He had a very nice (and efficient) postseason run last year.

Yeah, let's face it, this isn't about Gallup or Lamb. This is about getting someone better than Noah Brown. And yes he did have that nice catch against the Vikings but if we are being honest with ourselves he is a very limited player. We just need a guy capable of beating single coverage on a regular basis. Assuming OBJ is healthy now he should be able to do that.

And along with that, somebody that the defense has to pay more attention to than Noah.

1. He's not going to be healthy for a while, plus players have a very bad history of success after the second ACL on the same knee

2. He's not going to be just another receiver. This won't be like trading for a Claypool or even Moore. Every game he doesn't get "enough" throws or catches it's going to be a story/problem, even if he isn't right physically. Y'all know this.

Oh I've said it before. No question I think it's probably a bad idea but I'm desperate. I really feel like we need another weapon. We have at best 2 real receivers.

Had we kept Cooper we wouldn't be having this conversation, but here we are.

The NFC is wide open and we're pretty decent and very good defensively.

We're constantly complaining that the team doesn't just throw caution to the wind and go for it. Well, let's do it now.

I think the reason he isn't signed yet is because he is waiting to be healthy to play. If Gallup can come back when he did, OBJ should be ready in a week. He isn't signing if he isn't healthy, so I think that's a poor excuse.

And the whole diva part wasn't a problem with the Rams at all last year. By all accounts he has matured a lot. He also doesn't have Baker Mayfield throwing him that ball and he isn't coming in with expectations of being our star WR. I think he will fit in just fine.

I'm ready, let's frikkin do it.

My concern is his presence automatically tilts the offensive game plan away from what they do well.

But let's do it...give him 3 big years for this 1 run at a title.

That's the key, we have to stay run-oriented no matter what, Beckham is additive in terms of giving defenses another weapon to account for and being able to lean on the pass more when we absolutely have to.

But generally speaking we have to stay run-oriented both now and into the future.

I don't think there's much chance that Tyron is going to be terrible.
If they just throw Tyron out there for week 18 and then the playoffs it'd be too risky for my tastes but it seems like he'll be back in a few weeks, which would give us a handful of games to see how Tyron/Tyler look together.

If it's a huge issue there's no reason we couldn't just switch right back to Tyler/McGovern starting, and that may happen naturally anyway since you'd be asking Tyron to stay healthy for at least 4-5 games in a row.
