Bohana didn't last year either but sometimes it takes a full NFL offseason. Oh well, it's unforunate, I would have liked to stash him for a year but unfortunately we needed roster spots. I probably would have cut a different Dlineman but not that big of a deal.

Even if he turns into a Bohanna-level player it isn't a huge loss. These guys are roleplayers given how the game is played today, guys who play maybe 40% or so of the snaps because so much of the game is oriented around the pass.

Bohanna is a "starter" because base packages are still considered the "starters" but he's probably going to end up like 13th on the defense in snaps played.

They did not want to lose him but I’m guessing the practice squad shuffling forced them to cut him?

Yeah I just don't think he is ready to do much in the NFL yet. But that's kind of normal for the big NT types. They take a year or two to really get the strength and power to play against full grown men. Like I said, he is a guy who would have been nice to hold onto for a year and see where he is. Sort of like Bohanna did. But not a major loss. He may get cut again when the team that picked him up needs that roster spot for a guy ready to contribute.

TE is just one of those positions that shy of having an elite guy like Kelce/Kittle you just grab another in the third or fourth round.

He was picked up because he was a draft pick. Someone in their building scouted and liked him.

I don't want to poo poo a guy who did what you want him to do. He completed the open throws. But man Hurts had it easy. Guys just wide open, no pressure and simple manufactured reads. I have no idea what the Vikes were doing schematically, it was awful.
