Moore has to be gone no matter what, if they can claw their way back into the playoffs this year I'd be ok giving McCarthy one more year but ultimately if this season goes the way I expect I think they need a clean slate either with Quinn, Payton or a yet to be named HC.
Unfortunately any new coach would just be another retread with a familiar name because that's how these lazy SOBs roll.

So I wouldn't hold my breath expecting them to bring in a bright young OC in the McVay or Stefanski mold. Nope only guys like Fisher, Zimmer, and Jay Gruden are on their radar.

Look, I know the Jones' won't change completely, but I'm really interested in seeing how things will play out if this season continues to go into the shitter.

The public pressure and fan negativity has NEVER been this bad, and we're barely in week 1.

I want to see how they're doing after 3 months of constantly being questioned about how they do things along with dealing with the backlash of finally pissing off a fan base that up to this point had been blindly loyal.
Unfortunately now they’ve got a built in excuse with Dak being hurt, similar to Romo being out in 2015.

That pathetically coached team went fucking 4-12 after being 12-4 the year before and the fan base simply turned their attention to the draft and a Romo return in 2016.

I wonder if after Dak’s return the fan base will finally digest that he only performs well vs cupcake teams or when we’re in comeback mode vs. better teams.

I ask because the Joneses have three, maybe four scapegoats in Dak, KM, MM, and even DQ before this idiot Joe-fan base even thinks of turning on them fully. And then Will McClay and Stephen get hit first. Jerry is made of industrial grade Teflon.

Parcells was gently convinced. It was convenient because most of the Friends of Bill that had defensive chops were not available.
Although eventually supposedly Parcells fought to keep Zimmer and convinced him not to take the Nebraska HC job and remain in 2004

Here's the big misconception about Jerry Jones:

Nothing is going to make him change per se, but he does HATE constantly being questioned about needing to change their approach.

Whenever the Cowboys go through bad seasons like this one (2010, 2015, etc), that's when the questions come about whether the Cowboys need to reevaluate how they are doing things. And they come more frequently because the Cowboys keep losing in those types of seasons. And you can see how impatient and snappy Jerry gets with each passing week having to address those questions.

Look no further than Tim McMahon going from covering the Cowboys to being a two-bit NBA reporter. :lol

A significant portion of the fan base has lost its patience for how this family does things and now other athletes and media outlets and such that didn't pay attention before are starting to pay attention now.

The pressure has never been greater than it is going to be this season and I'm really curious to see how they handle it.

I hope those fuckers can't even sleep at night and find coming to work to be miserable.
I imagine what Jerry cares about more than anything is being relevant. The day when reporters really don't care what he has to say, when even the negative stories go away, that's the day he fears the most. For Jerry, the old saying applies: there's no such thing as bad publicity. Even stories about the Cowboy season going in the shitter are still stories with him at the center. If enough seasons go into the shitter and the franchise turns into one like Detroit or Jacksonville, no marquee TV games, anemic attendance, national punchline, when nobody cares enough to ask questions or write stories, that's what will get his attention. Maybe.

What defines relevancy anymore?
