It's Daron Bland's time to shine.
It kind of sets up perfectly, really. Get his feet wet(ter) against a bad Bears team where a mistake or two shouldn't hurt too much, then the bye week, then he should be ready to roll the last half of the year.

Of course, he's DaRon Bland, he probably won't make many mistakes.

Smith, Williams, Ferguson, and Bland already showing things this year. With Clark on the way. And regardless of the angst so far with Tolbert, I still expect good things from him. And we still have Waletzko, who we all knew would need a year or two to add strength and technique. Our draft class this year is looking very good so far.

I don't even know how he hurt his foot, was it hit in midair when he dove for the INT? Was it when he planted?

Strange, but we'll be fine with Bland, especially since Quinn likes using Kearse and Wilson in the slot so much to begin with.

I think I saw a tweet where Dak said this rookie class was the best since he's been here, and actually the last two years have been excellent.

Except for that fucking schlub Kelvin Joseph.

Our front office generally does a good job with the draft but they have a few real stinkers with premium picks. Every team of course has misses in the draft, and probably more than we do, but it's so disappointing when they take shitbirds like Joseph and Hill and then any number of players who most of the fans would've wanted instead (Thornhill, Ojulari, Samuel, Moehrig) turn out to be real players.

Joseph and Tolbert (no, I'm not calling Tolbert a bust yet, it's way early for that) were both reaches for need at positions that had largely been already cleaned out. Don't think it's a coincidence.

Yea I think that stands with Joseph and Hill for sure, I think Tolbert was expected to go in that late 3 range though, it wasn't nearly as bad a reach in my opinion.

Shitty but I'm definitely interested in seeing Bland. I'm sure he'll have a few busts but I don't think we'll see too much of a drop off.
Todd Archer says it's a big loss for the Cowboys. :shrug

Every injured starter could be considered a "big loss" but in the grand scheme this is pretty minor unless Bland just starts blowing coverages left and right.
