Yeah, I think people are getting a little silly here.

But there is one thing that I hope has happened.

It is that maybe, just maybe, Moore is the one who has learned just as much has developed to the point where he get some identity going on.

I know people think the "bus driver" line is a pejorative, but I can say Aikman was pretty much a limo driver for a lot of his career.

That is not disparaging his physical skills, but it was rare he had to step out of the complementary football stage.

The second NFCCG against the Niners was pretty much the first time in his career that he was saddled with passing all of the time.

Prescott could be a bus driver like that if that is okay with everyone else.

I can honestly say our defense looks as close as you are going to get in this era of having depth up and down.

That was our formula back in the day.

There's a misnomer that if you're an elite QB you should be slinging the ball around 40 times a game and winning games with your arm every week, and it's completely ridiculous.

Peyton didn't win a Super Bowl until the Colts were able to effectively play complementary ball in the playoffs in 2006. The Patriots were always focused on a balanced offense with Brady. Tampa Bay was very balanced during their run two years ago, and it was their running game more than anything that carried them in that Super Bowl. When Seattle was at their peak it was because of a balanced offense and their defense, they only started going downhill once they tried to be a more Wilson-centric team.

Even if you have an elite top 3-5 QB in the league (which Dak isn't), you should still strive to be balanced and give your QB easy reads, only asking him to put on the cape when absolutely necessary. The best offensive minds in the league (Shannahan and McVay) focus on establishing the run and build their passing game around play-action and the deception of the running game.

I truly hope that Moore has learned a valuable lesson here and doesn't revert to some Josh Allen-type shit when Dak gets back, expecting him to be superman and constantly spreading things out with 4-5 wides.

The fact that we have an awesome defense is only more reason to be more pragmatic with the offensive design.

The Cowboys inspire this silliness.

The second NFCCG against the Niners was pretty much the first time in his career that he was saddled with passing all of the time.
You mean the third one?

Yeah, but passing all the time doesn’t make for a champions team either.

Aikman had a really good game vs Denver towards the end of the 1992 season. Emmitt had struggled vs what was a very fast Denver D.

That was the first time I saw Troy really get out and carry the Limo.

Then he did it again at SF, maybe his best game ever, and once more in the Superbowl.

Yeah the defense went nuts in that game, but not at the start when we were behind the Bills. Aikman drove the field with super sharp passing and back to back TDs to Irvin. He deserved to be the MVP

At the time I felt his ceiling was arguably higher than some of the OT's who went in the top 10, the problem was that he had major holes in his game that had to be improved upon that generally didn't exist with those top 10 guys, and that's always a crap shoot.

But if he had went back to school, cleaned up his technique and had another all-conference type showing, I think he could've very easily been the top OT taken and a top 10 pick in 2023.

It's not just athleticism though... he has that rare country strength where he's not just strong in certain planes like bench, squat, etc. but in every direction, when off balance, etc. Like when he started to get bent backwards by Vea, then recovered and stopped him cold. His core strength must be unreal.

Add in the good feet, smarts, and professional attitude and it's a home run.

Im seriously starting to question if some of the offensive problems come from Dak checking out of runs at the LOS. I’ve seen comments from a few people claiming Cooper is sticking with the play calls as called.

That was a big problem with Romo until 2014, so could be.

It's the fault of the coaches/organization for relying too much on, or deferring to, these supposed star QB's.

Hubris basically.

He had a bunch of potential if he hadn't gotten buried behind a future HOF'er because the HC had a weird TE fetish that he could never materialize into anything on the field.
