But I'm not buying the move up stuff.

I'm not sure but I will say if everyone is trying to move down, then the cost of moving up will likely be cheaper than normal.

Which was exactly Jerry's justification after moving up for Claiborne.

The stars are aligning for Jerry, so I'm nervous.

That's my hope, that he falls, but I wouldn't be willing to give up a second to get him. I feel like we have too many holes to do that.

To be clear, I don't think he will fall to anywhere near us.
That's the problem, you do that and you're screwed at WR and Oline. You're counting on third and fourth rounders to step in and start. And talk about having to force need picks at that point. You'd just have to force it. Not unless you plan on signing Turner and TY Hilton which we won't. And even then a year from now those are again massive needs because the pipelines are empty.

I think he's the one player who can cover other holes we have, and do so for many years.

In the grand scheme of things, we've been missing this kind of player since the mid 90's, (maybe never) and it's no coincidence we havn't been able to get over the hump and into the NFCC since then.

That's why I'm willing to spend that 2nd rounder, I think Davis can be much more than a Michael Brockers, and if that's his floor it will still be productive.

And I agree, there is no way he falls past Baltimore at 14 or Philly at 15

It is scary that a guy like Breece Hall is going to be destroying some team next year and will likely be a second round pick.
His size, speed, and production would have had him easily in the first round 10 years ago. Or maybe even 5 years ago. Things have just changed so much with RBs but I still wouldn't be shocked to see him sneak into the late first. I'd feel way better about him than Travis Etienne last year who the Jags took.

If we drafted him at 24 or a wee trade down-- make no mistake it would be the exact wrong move-- but man would he be fun to watch wearing a star

Yeah I mean we will be talking about RB probably next year. I wouldn't ever take one in the first. But it's going to be a priority when we dump Zeke. I think the Michigan State kid is great too. But I'm not taking a RB on the first two days this year. Save that 4 year contract for next offseason.
