He was another kid who made it to the NFL from our local area.

Tons of stories of the kind heart he's shown since making it, and a truly great example of how your circumstances early in life don't have anything to do with your success later.

Because some dummies thought Bryant was better?
Dez was great.

I know there's this thing Cowboys fans like to do where they downplay how good some of our players from the 2000s were, but Dez was outstanding for about 5 years.

From 2011 to 2016, no receiver in all of football had more TDs.

And yeah, he wasn't a naturally gifted receiver. He didn't run great routes and didn't get enough separation in man coverage as he should have, but yet despite that he still led the entire league in receiving TDs over a 5 year span and managed to set the franchise record as well.

So for all his flaws, the guy was quite the weapon for us and I for one miss him.

Imagine prime Dez on this team right now.

It sure would help with a lot of the redzone woes we've suffered from.
