Hopefully this is code for "it depends on whether or not we get a replacement in the draft".

Hopefully they come out of this weekend with a replacement. His 5th year option is a bit over $9 million and that feels like too much of a gamble when you consider the injuries and diminished level of play the past 2 seasons.

In a perfect world the deadline to act on that 5th year option would be sometime this Fall and not next week.

Drafting Micah Parsons would go a long way towards fixing that concern, and impacting run defense, pass rush, coverage, turnovers, and general playmaking on most every defensive snap.

But we don't need that.

We're going to burn the best draft capital we've had in 5 years on a guy who's going to cover one WR (who might not even always be the most dangerous WR) and help with the run occasionally when it's a rush to the outside on his side.

Oh yeah, we might even get a feisty cover guy.
