Yeah Pitts is basically a big WR with his skillset.
Though he’s a much better blocker as he proved in his senior year. His value over replacement in Jarwin/Schultz would be huge as well. What sucks is this makes an already strong offense insanely strong but doesn’t directly help the defense.

We are too late for Sewell, and the value above replacement doesn’t make sense at QB or WR.

Slater’s arms turned out to be a very Connor Williams like 33 inches. Not so great for an OT and especially not LT. it really, really sucks to hear this. This pretty much makes him a guard. Good value at 15, average value at 10.

LVE and Jaylon Smith have each been in a terrible free fall since 2018, which makes Micah Parsons a strong choice, but we know the Joneses love their current LBs and won’t believe in the value above replacement.

Farley and Surtain would be great value above replacement, but are they really top ten caliber, especially when several CBs graded as 2nd rounders are really good this year?

Biggest unknown: DL Greg Rousseau (pro day March 29).

Seems like no matter what we do unless we trade down or draft Pitts or the Joneses pull their heads out of their asses long enough to draft Parsons or Rousseau dominates his pro day we are looking at losing about 5 draft spots in value over another year.

Best outcome: trade down for someone who wants one of the QBs

At first glance, this is just outstanding to see. But we are going to get our hearts broken again.

How about Trevon Moehrig at 10? Why the fuck not?

He's 6-2, 200 with legit centerfielder ability, has range, has the ball skills to track over his shoulder, has the ball production (7 INT's, 20 PD's), is plenty physical as a tackler for a safety and was 1st team All Big-12 the last two years. He's also just a true junior.

I mean obviously the move would be to trade down to about 15-20 and get him, or to move up from the 2nd into the 20-25 range, but I'd give him serious consideration at 10.

Given the uncertainty at 10 (Parsons, Rousseau and Farley all sat out, Surtain's long-speed is a question, etc.) why not consider the guy who has the ideal H/W/S, traits and production to play one of the most important positions in Cover-3? And fill a spot we've been trying to fill for about 20 years now?

This is assuming he runs like a 4.45 at their Pro Day today, if he runs a 4.6 or something just disregard.

I would take Moehrig at 10 and walk away smiling.

Yeah he is a perfect trade down candidate. I don't think he lasts until 20-25 unless he runs a poor forty or something like that. So in an ideal scenario I try to move into the 15-20 range and snag him. I really don't see much difference between him and a lot of the guys who will be left at pick 10. I think sometimes being a safety sort of knocks a guy down the draft a little. It's a position that I think a lot of NFL teams overlook. Just not as much as us.

If he is the one they want. Take him at 10. Don’t get cute and lose the player you want

People would shit all over Dallas for taking Moehrig at ten for reaching. And maybe it is. But I’d still strongly consider it if we are unable to trade down. Ideally, trade down a bit to pick up another pick or two and grab him then. He could solidify our defensive back field for ten years. I just think he’s that much better than the other safeties in this years class.

And with the uncertainty of players sitting out this last year, I’d consider it even more.

They would get shit on. But oh well, if you get a 10 year fixture in the secondary who really cares. Lots of teams get praise for there drafts and then most of the picks end up as failures. So as long as he turns into an excellent starter the rest doesn't matter.

Taking Moehrig at 10 would be similar to taking Frederick at 30 or whatever it was.

Frederick was one of my top candidates with our pick in the 2nd, which was like 45 or whatever, so did I care that we took him 15 spots early?

Not really.

If we traded down to 20, or theoretically from 42 up to 25, Moehrig would be a top target of mine, so would I have an issue with him at 10?

Not really.
