Sort of, though I'm not sure grunge is an actual thing so there's no real definition.

By the strickest of definitions Smashing Pumpkins aren't grunge either.

I wouldn't call Pearl Jam grunge either.

I liked both of those bands, too. Just neither are in my top 10.

One band that was popular in the 90s that a ton of people liked that I could never stand was Nirvana.
They set the tone early though. That can't be denied.

It was the last stand for what could be called culturally significant white boy rock music.
